1981 Sonic Boom at FAMU!!!

My freshman year! :tup::jump:

During the Tiger-Run on, my CB slipped and fell. We :lmao: once we got back and watched the tape!

It rained like a mug at that game!

Also, FAMU drilled off of 'In the Storm and Sunshine!' They nailed that one!

Thanks ViperPhi! :D

SLT,

I saw this the other day on MEACfans and sent it out. I didn't have your email :redhot: so I omitted you. A lot of the other folks got or should have gotten it.

dac,

Not to be remorse, here but isn't that the weekend Prof passed away? If I remember my history (legend :D) correctly (and I'm sure it's been embellished) it was:

1. Kenny Archer (SLT's CB) fell during the Tiger Run-On, tumbled and came back up on step.

2. It rained most of the game, but the BOOM toughed it out.

3. Got back on the bus, wet and rode 10 hours to NO to play at the Saints game.

4. Where a squad of trumpets turned the wrong way during the drill and was out there floating on their own (Batmite & some others)

and

5. When they returned early Monday, they found out Prof had passed......

Dang!!! I'm a good crab!!! 24 years later!!!!!

Luv the BOOM!!!!

What was the name of that song you all was dancing to.

For those who like to Groove.....by Ray Parker Jr and Raydio

I was a big Sonic Boom fan then.

The drill tune....Lady you bring me up by the Commodores was on fire. I remember hearing those JSU trumpets scream on that. I have always like the Boom's arrangement to Knights by Night. Ole Kevin Handy arranged it for us at Callaway after hearing the Boom play it.

JR, don't pay The Show any attention. He was trying to be funny because I told him I couldn't remember the name of the dance song we played.

State sounded really good back then, and still do at times, Keep it up.

LOL. I wasn't going to say anything. Obviously he don't know. JSU aint never looked like Grambling. Heck if he thinks Gram dances now......heck back in the day they danced through the whole show. I still remember the rifle boys with silver helmets they had march with the band doing dances. Only Tuskegee had a more dance reputation than Gram.

Patrice Moncell sang "I'm tellin' you, I'm not going" and tore the house down.
Then SU bought out that "thin" girl trying to do the same...........

BENGAL E................Remember the BASS?

"When your hot your hot............
When your not you not.......SU.............
Wanna heat up the place..............
TURN UP SOME BASS.............."

Yeah,...
I can tell you one thing,...in the 80's Grambling was a fool!!!!
They put on a non-stop absolute show. I also see that alot of the bands besides Grambling had their music at high tempos.

Hmmmm

You are most certainly correct on all aspects. You were a good crab. Shleprock told me so. Besides, I've got 2 years on you. I was a junior that season.

Crit...don't run. Living to be our ages is only a hope for you at this point. :flippy:
