I can agree with what you are saying, to an extent. I'm not going to say that, as a whole, we don't respect our heritage. I believe that some of us do. I will say, however, that we don't always learn from our heritage.

I agree with your last statement wholeheartedly. Money doesn't define a person, at all. Although, unfortantely, some people are of the notion that it does. :smh:

Look at us in 96 versus 06. The answer is there. We are study trying to get away from what made us who we are. Nothing is wrong with advancing, but a man who doesn't know his history will always lose the battle. Other races respect their heritage. Black folks don't. Look at surburb black kids and look at inner city black kids. It's a big difference now vs 10 years ago. Money can not define you or your child.

I was just watching a show on one of those discovery channels that was talking about the poverty in China and how that the new manufacturing plants are bringing many of the poor in the rural areas above the poverty line. They stated how the kids went off to the city and how they are sending their money home to help their families. They stated that in 25 years the poverty level in China has dropped at least 50% because of the families helping each other. It's just amazes me how all ethnic groups work to help each other over come poverty while we distant ourselves from each other. The poverty level in our community has risen over 25 years even though 50% of us have better jobs.
