Stars come with money… nobody is getting stars based off high school games…. It’s camps.. which some of these players simply dont attend because they dont have the money to attend. I know in my city the best players in this area dont have stars and they are much better than the players in this area with stars. For example the running back AAMU just signed led the whole entire state in rushing his junior year (in the largest classification)… and was 3rd while playing only 8 games this year. The no stars actually helped us. Recruiting didnt really pick up because of the stars…. I think he only had Troy, Bama State. Miami Ohio, SEMO… and this is a player who had over 1700 yards in 8 games and averaged 9.25 yards per carry. Same thing with Bentley when he came to AAMU.

Sounds like an excellent pickup, but maybe others backed off for various reasons. Good luck to the young man!

I peeped. Powers can make combat catches. I felt if he returned , cleaning up his routes out of breaks would’ve been the next part of his development. He struggled to consistently get separation from DBs. He will do well for his future team or back here in a few months. I just hate it for him because I think he would’ve won a ring in the next few seasons staying home. WR in the portal is very deep. So I’m anticipating a lateral move to another SWAC team for him. Once a tiger always a tiger.

🤣 that's the ones who scare me

that's what Southern, TSU and Grambling were getting during their runs and comegy lived off that at the beginning of his tenure

Eventually unless it was murder or rape schools stopped kicking them out over drugs so we lost out lol

Their coaching staff is committed to winning, even w/ fcs subpar facilities, and they are VERY connected to land impressive and qualified student-athletes, especially at the OL and DL positions.

If I were a talented 18 y/o right now this very second, I would EASILY choose hcu over PVAMU AND sTu. Easily, mostly based on the unqualified and inept "coaching" at sTu AND PVAMU.

Both schools are a farce for a d-1 fcs football school. Look at the horrific display of political BS at play vs what is best for the students and student-athletes.

Hopefully sTu will make a great hire which in turn should hopefully help AD Goff make the right hire for us when whatshisname's contract expires.
