Feeling like a down year for the SWAC

Yes, and this still doesn't make what he said wrong. JSU always had big crowds but they DEFINITELY were NOT drawing like that before Deion got there. Every team sees attendance increases with wins, that's not debatable lol. I'm betting many of you don't remember what Bama's crowd was looking like that year they lost to ULM.

JSU hasn’t even played a home game. You don’t know what they going to draw y’all making assumptions. I’m not a JSU fan but those people support their school. They sold out Southern and The SWAC-MEAC Challenge. They didn’t do that when Prime was at JSU.

These folks think they know soooooo much..

And we been saying for years the SWAC needs better coaches so this another venting, nothing will likely happen thread. I think the SWAC may be cursed, even a former NFL coach (Hue Jackson) is getting out coached by coaches with no where his level of experience
159-191-2 / .45; Hugh Jackson's NFL coaching record. Hugh was available for a reason.
Because someone has done something at what's considered a higher level doesn't mean they were doing it well.

BS… AFTER Watching Texas So give up 21 fourth quarter points to the worst AAMU team have had in years…. I knew them and Body was a fraud.
If anything, you are consistent when it comes to saying anything. First, the worst teams you all had recently were under Spady. Second, don't pretend Body''s fumble and season ending injury didn't give you all a life line. Your coaches took advantage of it, ours had no answers.

JSU even outdraw some FBS teams in down years. Rice, Toledo, ULL, Texas State, etc.

Maynor coco self is on his way out the door. He can barely win SWAC games, see this the shit that happens when you aim low like he do lol. And since the 80s, the SWAC has not been a respected FCS conference. It's not because we can't attract talent ... we just need good ADs and coaches who know what to do with the talent. I feel the athletic resources are finally catching up at most SWAC schools but that's not enough to be a be a highly respected DI football program
Vast majority of HBCU leadership it too willing to continue the status quo. Like in the swac no president wants to make waves in the counsel of presidents. It feels like they are getting over, maybe my expectations are too high. I worked in fortune 100 organizations for nearly 20 years and I became accustomed to an environment of accountability. So when I see the high level of unaccountability around HBCU's it blows my mind.

ALMOST EVERY SWAC AND FCS EXPERT WAS SAYING TSU WAS THE DARKHORSE TO WIN THE SWAC. We had a lot of good reasons to believe this was our year but we were wrong. Don't act like you made predictions based on reasonable evidence that didn't come true

Just like i was wrong about TC Taylor being a good coach ... I take that back as well. JSU looks weak and just keep beating weaker HBCU teams ... I'm no longer a believer in TC. I really wanted to like TC but I'm not impressed with JSU's product on the field at all despite all the fancy facility and uniform upgrades and having the #1 FCS/HBCU recruiting class ... now go whine about that LOL.
Why are you worried about us? Y’all can’t keep a lead versus nobody. Houston Mass Choir would probably take yall out.

You sound butthurt. What school you represent again? I don't think I have ANY pics of us playing whoever you all are.
Say skool, I have some pics if you need them. I have pics of smiley's missing tail, jsu fans in flip flops, and pom pom thrown out on 1-10. Me and TSUgray are not always on the same page but watch your mouth.

Now just a few weeks ago you had TxSo winning the SWAC. Now your tune is changing two weeks into the season AND declaring a down year for everybody? You just can’t make this shit up 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
tsu's only conference loss it pv. Just like last year it could come down to the last game. None of the teams in the west look good enough to just run away with it through the first couple of games.

Thanks for making my point. It’s too early to be declaring anything and being over dramatic when it’s only week 2. Anything can happen in the SWAC. Y’all should know this by now smh

Also HBCUs suffer from a hook-up culture of hiring woefully unqualified sorority sisters, blood family, friends, and frat brothers as with Coach Dooley and Robinson. So yeah you hook up your frat or what not but now you losing money b/c fans ain't coming out, your job and reputation is jeopardized b/c of the hire, and you making the school look bad ... the collateral damage is extensive with this problematic hook-up culture ... pick the best person for the job, damn not hard

You have pics of us? COOL!!!! Do you have any pics of the school you represent? That's what I'm looking for.

Yesterday made it obvious. I'm only impressed with FAMU. BCU and AAMU I'm still sorta trying to figure out. FAMU actually should've beaten FBS-opponent USF but costly mistakes at the end lost it. The only somewhat valuable non-conference win so far is against a slouchy South Carolina State. We already have 2 Division II loses, we getting stomped by low tier FBS teams like Toledo, Southern Miss, Vanderbilt, unranked FCS teams like Hampton, SFA, Tennessee St, ACU have gotten victories over us.

I'm honestly impressed with 3 teams in the MEAC. Morgan State barely lost to FBS-opponent Akron in the last minutes of the game and beat a top 20 ranked FCS opponent in Richmond on the road. Howard looks good. And NCCU looks REALLY good. And also it's important to note, Norfolk beat Hampton who Grambling couldn't beat so Norfolk may be of some decent quality.

December will be interesting, I'm always gonna pull for the SWAC but once again it looks like the MEAC seemingly higher level of play and competition is shaping them up to be the lowkey favorite in the Celebration Bowl. It all starts at the top, the SWAC needs better coaches
I agree with you, it looks like a down year overall for the conference.

BCU and AAMU played lesser teams so that's not a true gauge. MEAC down too with the exception of NCCU.

Now I fully agree with you on the hook-up and frat/sorority mess. The frat/sorority mess is the down fall of HBCU's. It's like cult. They use to just hire any body at one point in Huntsville just because of the frat/sorority mess and them white folks shut that mess down out on base. The sad part about it is they were hiring the unqualified frat/sorority members. Not the ones who could do the job. How you gonna hire a person with a elementary education degree to do contract specialist work. lol Now it's tough to help anyone.

It's amazing to witness that ignorance lol. Unqualified, willfully mentally subpar, academically inferior or "average" lol, ... smgdh

Often, the powerbrokers won't choose the best qualified because he/she does not look like them.

I align w/ competitivity & winning, not silly "race."

Bruh, hook-up culture is all throughout college sports, not just HBCUs. How do you think some of these loser coaches at the P5 level keep getting hired over and over again?

Yes, they have a hookup that is strong. But, just because they do it means that it's right and just for us to do that silly shit. Just like speeding, just because some get away w/ that dumb shit doesn't mean we should break the law and do the same.

F' a hookup. We need to hire QUALIFIED and QUALITY, regardless of "race." I get jealous every time I peruse sfa's roster knowing damned well we could have gotten that guy AND his staff from aTm-Comm, an already proven winner and recruiter, instead of this recycled from w/in LAZY bullshit that has a life of its own @ PVAMU.

Every summer you all come up with the whole conference will be better non-sense. I will believe it when I see it. Right now, there are two good teams. JSU is #1 and FAMU is #2. AAMU might have something. We will have to see. In the West, yall better watch out for UAPB.

The problem is yall were just waiting on Deion to leave and you did nothing to get better. TC went out and got the best recruiting class to keep that JSU train moving.

Bruh didnt FAMU just make yall “pass the stick” in the first half?

I think you have to include Bama St in the East-mixx as well. All 4 teams (AAMU, JSU, FAMU, Bama St) are the strongest in the SWAC, imho.

The SWAC West is very weak, imho. It will come down to the best of the worst at the end, like last year, to determine the SWAC West representative.

Its pretty simple to check attendance lol. Yall are funny
