Physician Preference: Male or Female

I personally don’t care if you male, female, or transgender….as long as you are qualified for my medical care.
You must have been listening to Sway in the morning? I prefer women for physicals and massages. I prefer a man for counseling. My primary physician is a sister.

Really good discussion that they had. I had a male doctor years ago for my physical. It felt uncomfortable. That guy had big fingers. lol The pain lol
Man, I once had a bloody stool from a heavy leg day workout and my wife freaked out and made me go see my PCP. He was a cool brother but once he had to examine my butt to make sure I didn't have any rectum tears, I had to switch. I have a sister now. The brother was solid but I couldn't look him in his eyes anymore lol.

I hate I missed this discussion. I usually catch Sway every morning, from Harold Melvins "Wake up Everybody" till about 9am.
To answer the question, at one point from 1998-2008 all my physicians were women, dentist, primary care, and eye doctor.

During Covid, my dentist merged her practice with a bother and then she quietly retired.

In 2004, I was going to leave HSV and hadn't been to my PCP, for almost a year and a half. When I decided to stay I called her office to set up an appointment, but was told she wasn't accepting any new patients. When I told the lady on the phone I was a current and not new, she said if I hadn't been there in a year, I was considered a new patient. So I started going to his brother from the recommendation of my father in law at the time.
I found out later, from another patient of the lady PCP, that I should have asked to speak to her directly and she would've had me come back. The doctor's front office staff was acting like it was their practice and two of them were fired, for doing exactly what they had done to me.

My eye doctor is still female, beautiful Indian lady. 6ft tall and stays in shape, even after having two kids!

My dentist is a sister also. She has her own practice. Spelman/Meharry grad.
My dentist is an AKA from Tennessee State, I have been with her since she first got out of school, our kids ran track together almost 18 years ago, she never let me have pain. If you in Ft. Worth, she is a good one and really helped me improve my dental health.

Don't ask about her feet Flounder, she is married

Nice! We moved back to Maryland

Not where I am and some of them, I’m sorry to say, are incompetent (like in any other profession).
Well, I can only speak from personal experience, but here in the Houston area, it was very difficult for me to find one. I have a black American doctor now. Well, what happen was, the white South African doctor that I had retired, and this black American doctor took his place. He is a young fella. As far as I can tell, he is quite competent. But all the specialists that I have had to go to, none of them were black.

Understood…. If you’re fortunate enough to find a competent doctor that you’re comfortable with, that is a great thing. I do understand the difference in demographics and experiences.

We have a lot of black doctors here in the DMV. I have a black pcp, black chiropractor, black cardiologist and hispanic dentist
