Trei Oliver coached like a Rod Broadway disciple.. Defense and Run Game!
Their running game was beautiful to watch - power football at its finest. J-State had no answer for the pulling guards. If that was a best four out of seven like in basketball - Eagles would win the series as J-State could not stop the run. I only remember one run play for a loss.

This loss was on the AD as principle took its course. Prime’s exit at J-State should have been when he took that plane to Boulder. Shameful performance with back-to-back embarrassment of the SWAC augmented with all that braggadocio talk.

Yeah, it was cool that Deion wanted to coach the Bowl Game, but JSU shouldn’t have allowed it. Too many distractions!

I do disagree that was a shameful performance. 10-2 NCCU is a good program and will beat any SWAC team worst than they beat JSU. That game was a nail bitter between two good teams. Props to NCCU for doing what the MEAC loves to do when they play us! And that’s being more physical. I hate it, it’s true.

Physical vs Finesse Offense!

According you and others J-State was not a SWAC team, but a burgeoning G5 team. It was shameful as J-State lost in the most humiliating way of not being able to stop the run.

There was nothing fluke about the game. NCCU ran right at them and averaged 6 yds / carry, rushed for 254 yds, and had ~ 2:1 TOP advantage.

Hopefully we will use the run game next season. It works!!!

One thing I can say about NCCU, they played smart, tough, fast, and discipline and with character .
Man I'm 38 caliber STILL hot about this L but your comment did make me LOL 😂.

This doesn't make the SWAC look anything but bush league and PVAMU football has gone out of its way to contribute heavily & look as low-level bush as possible.

Bobby Womack said it best - "I can't be in two places at one time".

There's no way you can effectively manage two major programs simultaneously; especially when trying to prepare for a game of this magnitude. It's obvious that while he was physically in ATL with JSU gear on, he (and others) have been mentally and emotionally in Colorado (or other places) for a while.

Dude, JSU was loaded with FBS caliber talent and dominated with a 12-0 finish. The amount of highly recruited Rival/247/ESPN star kids on their roster’s support the G5 Claim. You can’t ignore the distractions facing their program leading up to the biggest match up in HBCU football vs a well rested 9-2 Top 25 FCS program. One could easily claim that JSU would have one that game had Deion not been splitting time and focusing on the war ahead. You never know.

No, Deion Sanders shouldn’t have coached this game as a departing Coach, but he did and they lost in OT. Nothing shameful about an OT Championship Game loss.
