Why are there no Black college football head coaches in the SEC?

Terrell Buckley, a 14-year NFL veteran and Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, was named head coach of the new Orlando XFL franchise this summer. But as a cornerbacks coach in the college ranks over the past decade -- the last six seasons in the SEC at Ole Miss (2020-21) and Mississippi State (2016-19) -- Buckley said he felt "stuck and trapped" as a Black assistant coach and pigeon-holed as somebody who "could recruit and only coach my position."

This is what they wanted Coach Prime to do. Just recruit and coach the secondary.

B/c ya'll sons, nephews, and cousins don't care if the coach is black ... as long as the school got big fancy resources, fast white girls, and a huge following they gonna enroll regardless of what the head coach color is.

Happy Clapping GIF

I guarantee you, if white girls started flocking to HBCUs. We would have five-stars in all sports. You wouldn't even have to recruit for them. Because, they will find you.

We also have some brainwashed black people that will believe anything come out of non-black person's mouth.

I swear, black people in Montgomery are a prime example. They won't ever spend 25.00 for a ticket to ASU. But, they will spend 100.00 on PWI apparel, and downfall ASU in the process.

I could be wrong but I really don't think it is the "fast white girls". Hell, you can find those anywhere, well, that is what CEE DOG's uncle told me. 🤣 But anyway, I think there is something else going on here.

College freaky white girls are like KYPROTONITE to black athletes. I know many collegiate black athletes that went to PWIs partly due to their lust for COLLEGIATE white girls. Being a cool black athlete on a white college campus, white girls are gonna being throwing it at ya left and right. Don't get me wrong, there are athlete groupies at HBCUs but it's a whole nother level at the bigger PWIs b/c there they are thought of being more likely to go pro. It's RARELY genuine love and connection on both ends. Lust/trophy wife/white acceptance chasing from the brothas and clout chasing/securing the bag/"thug appeal-bbc excitement" chasing from the white women.

They are already there (soccer, softball, etc.) but I get what you are saying. You basically would have to do an A&T (Valley is 95% black so it would be a lot harder there lol)

Agreed It's a lot more than fast white girls, etc. Like you said you can get that anywhere if you want it. I've been on sports recruiting trips twice. Once with my son who attends an HBCU now and doing it now with my daughter who will most likely end up at a power 5 playing sports. We have to do something to up our facilities and support system at HBCUs. These days it takes more than just loving the HBCU tradition. On these tours the facilities and everything are so unbalanced it's insane. A lot of that other stuff is true, but that's just my insight from seeing it first hand.

You just need some white girls. Black men that frequent them don't care about her looks. Just go around some parts of the south. 😆

She can be big as a house with a bison for a face, and some black men will still be proud of her body.

some schools have the facilities and we still turn the other way

other than money in your pocket - what's a PWC support system? They rarely hire blacks in support roles to begin with unless you walk a fine line and play their game its still going to end the same

Networking

Better shot at playing in the post season (at least in basketball more than football)

Better facilities-even schools like North Texas and DePaul could blow away some HBCUS

Better shot at the NBA (more than the NFL-where you do see HBCU guys get drafted)

Better locations for some schools.

Better offerings for student life. Take University of Texas at Arlington-down the street from a mall, Six Flags, Jerry Dome and plenty of businesses. They also have the Dallas Wings of the WNBA. Who fills up half the arena on campus. Free promotion for recruiting and that is not counting the ads they run for the school.

Black folks loves to CRY about black coaches YET how many times have we seen a black coach NOT get support? Then a white guy shows up and suddenly everyone can PLAY.
