I would love for us to play in Memphis. I would definitely be there.Alabama A&M
Alabama A&M has been one of the most successful HBCUs in recent years under fourth-year coach Connell Maynor. The Bulldogs were 7-3 last season and in they went 5-0 and were voted HBCU national champions for the abbreviated spring season earlier in 2021.
South Carolina State
South Carolina State won last season's Celebration Bowl over Jackson State for the unofficial HBCU national championship. It’s also one of the most storied programs in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference history, with 18 conference championships, the most among MEAC teams.
Grambling State
Grambling State is one of the most recognizable Black college football teams due to its success under legendary coach Eddie Robinson. The school is less than five hours from Memphis and their marching band — the Tiger Marching Band — is one of most entertaining and respected bands in the country.
Southern University
Southern University is another SWAC school with rich tradition. Like Jackson State, they’ve produced multiple Pro Football Hall of Famers, including Harold Carmichael, who was inducted last year. Southern also won the SWAC West Division championship in 2019.
Mississippi Valley State
Mississippi Valley State, located just over two hours away, is close enough to fill in. It happened in 1991 when Jackson State couldn’t participate and the Delta Devils won 10-7 over Tennessee State.

Five schools that could replace Jackson State in Southern Heritage Classic
With Jackson State football out of the Southern Heritage Classic, which team could fill in on short notice?www.clarionledger.com
I have always said that AAMU and UAPB should have kept playing in that classic in St Louis.Yes, and that was further away than we are from Memphis.
We also traveled heavily for the Gateway Classics in St. Louis, and decently when we played in Chicago.
Did you just quote yourself and tell yourself that it wasn't that serious?Man there are thousands of JSU fans with varying opinions. Seems like you needed to really get that off of your chest though. It's really not THAT SERIOUS...LOL
Man… Stop giving the newbie a hard time. Those weren’t his words.Did you just quote yourself and tell yourself that it wasn't that serious?

You guys are ignorant and immature incapable of carrying on a good discussion without some critical stupid comment. I am alive and well, you guys are alive and hopeles.*logging off*![]()
JSU will regret the day Prime leaves. Enjoy!!!You dead yet? JSU fans killing you but you in a JSU thread venting to JSU fans.

Boy stop all that crying and drop ya nuts. Jesus. You guys are ignorant and immature incapable of carrying on a good discussion without some critical stupid comment. I am alive and well, you guys are alive and hopeles.
Keep Praying!!JSU will regret the day Prime leaves. Enjoy!!!
Any payout would be minimal. Jackson State was only being paid $350k and the promoter has a duty to mitigate losses by finding a new participant. Furthermore, most contracts have clauses that permit schools to pull out. I doubt JSU would be foolish enough to lock themselves into such a bad deal without an exit clause. We were still under contract contrary to whats been told! Look for some legal action from both tNSU and Fred Jones!
this whole rant is stupidOk, lets kill something once and for all....for all the "fill the stands" talk y'all have been talking about for years, you jokers didn't even have a decent practice field until Prime got there. So you could "fill the stands" but couldn't afford a decent practice field???!!!!! Thanks to Madison High for allowing y'all to use their field some days in the past.
Y'all could "fill the stands" but before Prime got there the school promoted the band more than football.
Y'all the BIG school but you just realized y'all were being pimped in Memphis and FINALLY pulling out of that game. Why now, if y'all so big time why now just pull out? The contract was just renewed in 2019, not 2009. But y'all so big time and have known your worth for years. SMH
Y'all just upgrading the locker rooms. Just now. But y'all been "filling the stands" for years. Man please.
And I'm for all of us moving up and forward and that's why I clown about the stadium situation. Y'all can't even take Butch name off the field at the Vet. He had no affiliation with JSU. Cause if that's "YALL" stadium, why not name the field after someone from JSU? I wonder why..... Humph
The school should get with the city and make the plan to move the zoo to Leflore Bluff (like the Dwight folks want anyway) and give that land to JSU for a stadium. A spot close to the school with great access in and out. Either there or the Metrocenter spot. But y'all jokers be talking so crazy like y'all big time once y'all win a game or two that you make it funny. Like just a couple of years ago y'all had a grocery list of needs but hey.....y'all "fill the stands". Its comical
No hurt or jealousy here, just the truth.
You have got the biggest man crush I've ever seen. When is the baby due? You can call it Nate...if it's a boy.Too many JSU alums made great points earlier and this is too much for my little bitty brain to unpack right now.
I'm so giddy.... Bruh....
@BraveMan97 brang yo' ass up in here from retirement and talk about my raggedy old azz. lol I need somebody to bring me down from JSU-cloud-9 for a few.
@Bewildered, watch out for them sidepieces. No HBCU brings the money & ppl like JSU ... not that simple.

*getting up and doing my broked assed 1988 thug-nerd-thistle dance* DO IT JSTATE!!!! DO IT I SAY!!!!!!!!

Zero. Bruh, JSU capitalized and is executing "the plan" that is 49 years overdue. Do you not want your school to ride the wave of momentum -> we <- are experiencing?
Did you see it though. Zero conference pride. NothingSo when Tennessee State eventually joins an HBCU conference finally… you’re welcome… Again, JSU gets pimped by the swac for money and exposure under Coach Prime, is your biggest matchup both bands and schools look forward too, bringing 3,4,and 5 stars to the conference, and is the A side in contract negotiations and yet we’re the bad guys. As usual, thee vs everyone. No surprise.. we watched swac folks gargling over meac nuts after the celebration bowl in ways Alcorn and Grambling never had to face and they contributed as much to the SWACs ineptness at the celebration as our disappointment… I digress.
No tears my brother. Just the facts..Boy stop all that crying and drop ya nuts. Jesus.
As the old saying goes, 'you hit the nail on the head"....That's the problem with Tenn St8....TSU will not play any other HBCU on a home to home basis, unless it's a Classic....They are into playing other HBCU's in Classics in order to make money, and that's it. We (FAMU) stop playing TSU in 2017, and I don't think we will ever play them again....We use to play them for years in The Atlanta Football Classic, now they have lost JSU in the Southern Heritage.....
I feel sorry for The Aristocrat of Bands, they actually have no other band to look forward to on their schedule.....Tenn St8 should have been in SWAC ions ago....FRFR
and yall finally get why Alcorn ended the CCC. That crap just doesn't work if that check ain't hitting. Gots to cut that fat check.
