It would cost Southern university additional money to have it on campus which is just not smart business. No way the university could make money holding it on campus during the pandemic with Covid-19 .

City of Shreveport is taking care of travel, lodging and additional costs for the teams. While it may not be the most popular pick, I think SU & GSU saw this as a safe option.

LSU also installs a new playing surface every year during the spring .That probably played a part

As far as other activities besides the game, the Shreveport Mayor said that his committee will continue to have meetings and monitor the numbers before making announcements. You could have a game with 25,000 or 30,000 at the Indy Bowl. It just depends on the COVID numbers.

That won’t stop the folks in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, California, DC, and other areas Jags travel from to watch the annual tiger beat down. Keep hope alive though brotha!
