Bayou Classic will not be played in 2020 in NOLA -2021 iffy

They should do it for one year. Since, hotel rooms skyrocket during 'classic weekend. Hell, play the game at the Independent Bowl in Shreveport.

If they go with the model of having half the size of the stadium for social distancing...I think it will be LSU.. LSU stadium holds 102,000 You compare that to Independence which seats 65000 you half that that is 30000.

what’s Grambling’s and the promoter’s official response?

Gram and SU hands are tied because the Mayor of N.O. said last month that she was cancelling all activities in the city for 2020. Not sure what the Saints are going to do, the NFL maybe planning on PPV anyway.

The state does not want to lose the event. So I am pretty sure they will be working on a solution for cost with both schools.. I know people may have ill will with it being at LSU.. But if college football goes with the model of half the capacity based on numbers.. LSU makes more sense (with the agreements of cost for everything else).
LSU - 102321 - 51160(half)
Independenc- 60,000 - 29,000 to 32,000(half)

You are right. I might not like it but it makes the most sense plus since it is Southern's home game, it makes the most sense for them to host it in Baton Rouge. Black BR would really come out and support it and I think they deserve it

I wish they just cancel the season ... damn. There's no legit way they can make this work without having many lives being lost and impacted due to the spread of COVID-19.

Have the game on campus. For us we have an opportunity to have Famu, j st, Alcorn, Homecoming, Grambling, and a possibility of hosting a Swac championship game, oh yea go to Atlanta. I see money on the table. Have the game on campus.

And plenty of it. Alll those ticket sales (even if reduced by 40-50% staidum capacity) plus parking goes to Southern.

This invisible virus will dictate life, sports etc. What happens if a player test positive during the season right before the game? 2020 is a year that changed to the "New Normal" around the world. The mayor made the right call to cancel all major activities in New Orleans. China is approaching their second wave of Covid -19. With increasing Covid-19 numbers in the Divided States of America I think other cities will eventually follow in New Orleans footsteps.

Same thing that happens in situations that involved money, etc.

They will hide it until after the game and then have him sit out versus minor opponents
