My dearest sweetening, please don’t allow my weekly pick cause “friction” between us. Your team beat my boys, yes, but I saw some things during the game, things that didn’t quite gel with me.

Also, I picked my boys to beat JSU, and I was wrong about that. I could very well be wrong again this week too.

It’s okay. I expect everyone to bet against us in the last 3 games. We play a hot Alabama A&M squad, the defending Western division champs, and the defending SWAC champions. Realistically if we can win this week I think that we have a shot next week. One game at a time. It’s not going to look pretty at all ... it’ll be close but we are watching a team grow up in front our eyes and this is with freshman starting in key roles for this season. You are more than fine to pick against j state, I understand we got to prove it to sit with the big boys and that’s the bottom line... Alabama A&M whooped our ass last year, we’ve allowed Southern to bully us since 2013 , and we haven’t defeated Alcorn in 3 seasons. I think my boys believe and hear the negativity and will play above their record and with an edge. We got whooped against Kentucky state.... they playing like they have nothing too lose... we could win 1 out of the 3 and be where we were expected to be or defy the odds and pre season talk and really say Jackson state is back... but that’s on our coaching staff , consistent qb play from jones, and the offensive coordinator who has been high school in his playcalling... but I been there thick and thin and hell if we lose all I ask is my boys leave it out on the field and our opponents leave saying damn that j state pushed us till hell froze and continued to fight on the ice... pride and effort.
