What??? I feel like I just went to a used car lot and the salesman gave me the runaround.

Those two youtube clips are very depressing, embarrassing.

I know about Alabama Village, very well. I grew up around the way from that place. You know, White liberals, and conservatives, are all in the same boat as pertaining to black people. The first one feels, we are helpless. While, the latter think, we are lazy and don't want anything out of life.

Man, I love black women and i'm married to one. But, they are quick to let somebody make a fool of them. Man, growing up, a lot my friends, I grew-up with didn't have Father in their lives. Because, of majority of these same so-called "STRONG WOMEN" would chase behind some dead-dyck dude, and forget about their children.

Yes. We were also coming off a massive recession but the facts are the facts and that did drop. However, the wealth gap basically remained unchanged between black and whites. Average HH net worth only saw small improvements.

There is always a "but" when it comes to Obama. Health Care is something else he did as well though tRump and his cronies are trying to dismantle it. His name is Barack (not Moses).

I'll take prison reform for $400 JRock!!! The problem is we talk a good game, we look for a savior, but don't do the one thing that got us this far. ORGANIZE. These "woke" folks can tweet all day but until we develop an effective lobbying organization we will get what we currently have.

We talking about black specific issues. Healthcare reform is and was needed but this is about black wealth.

I agree with you and I think one reason we don't is because we think we have made it because they let us sit next to them in restaurants and churches and schools.

Or because they can point to a Michael Jordan, Diddy or Oprah and say "see they made it. They are billionaires" when it's arguable that MJ is the only one of those three with any real power

Yep it’s that plus everybody trying to tweet and talk

So you really believe that Oprah doesn’t have any power? Lol. The real problem is the “Superman” syndrome. We keep looking for one person to solve all of the problems we have. We have tons of examples from the old Jim Crow era where it shows that it takes a collective effort and we have to be on one accord to influence real change. Tweeting a bunch of bullshit won’t do anything other than cause separation and discord. What ever happened to meeting up, getting on one accord, and coming up with real solutions? The Congress has the power of the purse so why in the hell hasn’t the lightbulb come on to lobby them and bother them about our issues. The President can say whatever but if it doesn’t get pass the Senate and the House it’s all moot. All these Twitter Malcolm X’s and Dr. Kings are providing is lip service that will amount to a pile of nothing.

Let me see if I can put it like this. Someone on Youtube said that people like Floyd appear wealthy to normal black people but in the grand scheme of things he is only rich. Oprah is a billionaire (like Diddy) but if they did anything that went way left of the stat quo, they would get the Cosby treatment in a heartbeat. She can blackball Mo'Nique and those types but would get her card pulled if she tried that with anyone not her own color

OWN catered to white women and the LGBT at first but it was bleeding money left and right. Things didn't get right until she brough Tyler Perry and Ava on board.

The first problem is you’re listening to some random YouTuber. 2nd you’re comparing Diddy’s wealth to Oprah’s wealth (Diddy not a billionaire, Oprah is one 2-3 times over). 3rd you’re believing that a Network that Oprah created having a rocky start finding content (which typically happens in the beginning) and taking a loss made Oprah weaker or any less wealthier. Didn’t she make the smart move to steer the ship in the right direction? We don’t know as of yet what would happen if she would pull a white person’s card or not. What we do know is her putting money behind Ava, Tyler, and many other blacks (and whites) gave them the opportunity to be where they are today. Hallmark and Lifetime caters to women and that gay stuff too. It’s about dollars man. See that’s another problem with “us” we love each other during the struggle, but once someone gets to an Oprah type of stature we start pulling all types of ridiculous b.s. as reasons to not like that person anymore. Oh she’s too cool with whites, she Illuminati, she not really rich, she lost money on that, oh such and such had to help her, blah blah blah.

And it was literally only a year after launch when it turned around... he's speaking as if OWN was in the dumps for years before TP came and rescued it. lol

There are a few black issues focused lobbyist shops and you now have the Collective PAC but none of them are powerhouses and the Collective has not been able to raise as much money as it could have.
