He's just mad that PV has the system figured out with students paying a athletic fee which they voted on. Unlike Louisiana, Texas does not give money to schools for athletics.
We are, and the problem is what? Our structure falls in line w/ 100% of all Texas FCS schools, SWAC and non-SWAC alike. It's not problematic if the structure and financing can support it and obviously the Texas' FCS schools can and do.
We are following a model that has shown success at this level and has VASTLY improved our recruiting and competitivity. You and others will see what the "haves" are working w/ vs being in that "have not" realm as this continual SWAC powershift continues to occur. lol

But real talk, self-assessed student fees are a subsidy. Not necessarily state-supported with direct allocations, but still a subsidy.

We explained the finance model we use and that should be the end of it. We use it very well in THIS state and there’s nothing illegal about it. Not caring how or what others elsewhere are doing unless it’s more beneficial than the model we use. But at a glance, seems like what some are using is putting them in the red.

If winning entails losing one’s moral character for a trophy, we are happy right where we are at position #2 in the SWAC whilst enjoying our resort-like diggs and maintaining our higher standard
