I just smh at the admin up there. Pete basically ran the SWAC and the man can't get what he deserves? But we given Tony Clayton water head ass a dayum whatever that sht is.

I'll take that.

I just don't like the fact Tony got honored or had a ground breaking thing before Pete. That's my complaint, but I'm glad they are showing Pete love.

Hell even Picadilly let him eat for free Lol.

Tony didn’t get honored. He paid around 1.5 Million for that project. I was at the event the night before the Classic when they announced it. Again......$$$$ talks and bullshit runs a marathon.

Naming of buildings, streets and other physical infrastructure after people at public colleges and universities in Louisiana has to go through the state Legislature. Naming the field after coach Richardson falls under that scope. Just like we had to go through the Legislature to rename the band hall after Doc Greggs.

I believe there has been some in house things done on a smaller scale.

Cool thing about Doc's was that he was still the damn Band Director when it happened. Most are retired or dead when it happens.
 
What I remember about Pete's teams is that they were disciplined, loyal and they played until the game was over. I don't know how many comeback wins his team had during his coaching years.
Something should've been done for this man during the following year after his retirement or three years at the latest.
Personally, I would've given him a shot at the AD job for a couple of years.
Wish we had a coach like that right now.

Pete shut the greatest HBCU Coach in history down....so he deserves more...but really the SU folks don't want to give him more credit than Ace to be honest.

Pete had 7 Championships and Ace has about 11 (I think).

Actually Pete was not interested in the AD job. He wanted to keep coaching. The only thing I hated for Pete was he didn't get to coach in the upgraded facilities.

Pete is introverted. Not a good match to be AD. He didn’t like all the dog and pony show. Some coaches just like coaching. Trust me. We know. The only thing he wanted was more money for facilities and the team.
