Man stop. Now Louisiana has tops. If you have a certain GPA, your tuition is paid for by the state, but that’s only for Louisiana residences, but that’s no different than that minority scholarship the Mississippi schools use to get kids.11.7 is the limit. Cadar was probably giving 17.5+.
I have friends who played baseball, All SWAC level who played for nothing. Like I said Cador didn’t give much out to one person. It was nothing for SU to have a 100 plus kids out there for fall ball lol. SU 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team could have won the SWAC in the past. That was the general practice during that time, LSU did the same thing. Back then they had that transfer rule also, where kids didn’t have to sit out.Man if you played baseball you HAD to play for nothing or almost nothing compared to football and basketball. It is tough fielding a team when you can't give 20 full scholarships. What is the limit...17.5? You have to spread that between 25+ players. You have to be extremely creative or cheat or both.
Dude how u know when i attened Southern? Plus one guy did mention Rickie Weeks went to Southern for nothing. Smh
Cador offered Weeks a scholarship, and the little kid nobody wanted went to Louisiana and hit the weights – and the buffet table. Cador says good Louisiana cooking helped Weeks pack on 15 pounds before his freshman season even started, which led to the development of something no one – even Fowler – could project.

That issue didn’t happen during that time period. Again the NCAA report had the years that happened documented.Back to Weeks, there is no way he was paying out of state fees, which is considered a scholarship...Which Cador wasn't accounting for in his scholarship limits.
I'm going to submit an Open Records Request for Southern's Squad List for each season Ricky Weeks was at Southern. That will squash all this.![]()
