I think the move to ATL is to book end the HBCU football season in the A and hopefully entice other teams to stop avoiding it lol

That stadium is so damaged you would have to tear it down and start over.

Atlanta is getting the HBCU treatment like these FBS games have started to do with a season starting classic game and then ending with a bowl game in the same city.

I like the idea of using Georgia State's stadium instead of the dome in Atlanta. Cost should be a lot lower to rent and it's not this huge stadium with a lot of empty seats.

Tickets for the 2018 MEAC/SWAC Challenge featuring Prairie View A&M and North Carolina Central will go on sale Monday, April 2. Tickets will be priced at $15, $25, and $35, plus applicable taxes and fees

That makes no sense... who would want to stay by the airport when the stadium is on the cusp of downtown. That isnt a short drive..... There are plenty NICE hotels in a 3 minute drive from the stadium.

Auburn and Washington are playing saturday in the Chic FiLa Kick Off Classic so most of those hotels are being used for that event.

Chick Fil A game probably had those hotels locked down months ago. Plus if you're smart youd just catch marta from the airport or College Park to Georgia State station and avoid driving at all.

It makes plenty of sense when most of the hotels in the downtown and midtown areas are already sold out or $300 plus per night. The airport is only a 10-15 minute drive to the GSU stadium.....
