Dude stop.. Your ignorance only makes it worse.

So the MEAC & SWAC speak for and represent all HBCU's now?

GTFOH!!!

YES! Because they are conferences with ALL FCS HBCU Programs. What we are trying to get you to understand is that a school that does not play in a HBCU Conference with a true Bowl Game between the two FCS HBCU Conferences does not deserve the title of Black College Football Champions. simple as that. Now if Tennessee State wants consideration how about they start a classic where the following year they will play both winners of the SWAC and MEAC and playing the teams they beat in the conference championships or who were #2.

It brings legitimacy to the title. Hell Tennessee State of the last few years has not even competed against TOP HBCU programs....LOL

So to be fair let's only speak about the last two years....

2015: 4-6
Beat Alabama St, FAMU, and Jackson State - all three teams had a snow balls chance in hell of winning their conference

2016: 7-4
Beat: UAPB, JSU, Bethune Cookamn - again three teams that had a snowballs chance in hell of winning their conference

Let's go a step further.....they played Vanderbilt of the SEC and lost by 18.

Also, let's go further and examine how their conference:
Coaches Poll for FCS Teams
Austin Peay - not ranked
Eastern Illinois - not ranked
Eastern Kentucky - not ranked
Jacksonville State - #6
Murray State - not ranked
Southeastern Missouri State - not ranked
Tennessee Tech - not ranked
U-T Martin - not ranked

Now I would place real money on that following 4 schools if placed in that conference would either molloy whop the entire conference or damn sure make noise: GSU, NC A&T, NCCU, and Prairie View. My biggest concern is that in order to bring more legitimacy to the SWAC and MEAC we have to venture out more to TOP TEIR FCS programs to shut the folks don't believe up.

Gotta' add SU in that mix bruh. Other than that, spot on. :D

Your team plays the same schools.

You are on that booger sugar if you think those schools would molley whop even lowly AP. This is the same conference taking L's against D II schools.

Let me help you, you can have the CB and your BCF National Championship.

Your emotional now and I don't do drama.

BTW, Tell your AD to call our AD.

JSU will go 8-3 this season & win the SWAC ....... if JSU gets really good QB play then 9-2

Lol. Gettin mad at facts and calling folks emotional and trolls ain't helping your case just because he can't keep up with the convo. He doesn't get that you have to play and beat the top Black FCS programs to be considered BCF champions in the CB. If the other HBCUs under FCS wana jump up to the same standards and rules as the SWAC & MEAC and try to claim the throne then more power to em. But a legit BCF champion can only be claimed by playing other BCF schools in the same bracket and actually whooping ass while doing it in the CB as of 2015 (NCAT & Gram). Either TnSU can join the SWAC or MEAC to have a better argument and win the CB or continue to be left out. It's quite simple.

Ohhhh, like the way TNSU puts a foot in JSU azz every year.

Naw, no thanks we will stay over here in the downtrodden OVC where their is nothing to gain like that illustrious CB title and grandeous BCF National Title.

We will just step out and play your school in the SHC and drag JSU up and down the field just to make do.

Pardon me but do you happen to know the series record or what number of victories we are on in this current streak?

Asking for a friend.

Ok it seems when people state facts others say it is emotional. Emotional is utilizing booger sugar to describe Grambling, NC A&T, and NCCU.

Let's speak over the last 2 football seasons. If you think either Celebration Champion would take a "L" from a D-II school you are greatly inept in evaluating football talent. Next, let me address the drama aspect....I along with a few other have provided factual information. Given the overall standings of the HBCU teams that Tennessee State competed against and won; they played teams who were lackluster at best.

To resolve this Tennessee State would need to make the transition to the SWAC or MEAC. As far as any D-II team holding the crown that is insulting.

As far as GSU pursuing Tennessee State it should be the other way around as our program is considered one of the hottest programs in the FCS presently.

Just because you have a current winning record against ONE SWAC school, doesn't mean you'll do the same against other SWAC schools. You seem to conveniently forget the beatdowns at your place that AAMU would consistently give yall. You seem to conveniently forget the fact that yall struggled against the FAMU of the MEAC. You seem to forget the fact that Bama State has given you guys fits over the last few times you played them.
Just because you may match up well against one school, the record clearly show that you'd still struggle against other SWAC and MEAC schools.
Now go on back to the OVC board where nobody respects,, cares, neither do they bother to come to your home games. That alone speaks volumes regarding the relationship Tenn. State has with other OVC schools.

So the white folks don't come to see the "Aristocrats" shake their shimmy....LOL

Since you opened your mouth we have a winning record against all the SWAC & MEAC schools with Grambling being the lone exception.

That's why we would love to have them on the schedule.

TNSU is a HBCU and since this board does say HBCU Sports, I think I will stick around and chop it up with other HBCU alum.

Whew, there is so much liberty and freedom when you don't put yourself and other institutions of higher learning in a box.

You put your own self in a box when you said that you'd go on back over to the OVC.
As far as overall records, we're talking about recent years against a few SWAC and MEAC opponents. I do know that for some odd reason, AAMU took yall to the woodshed, and they weren't even the best team in the SWAC during those years.
When Bama State beat you, they weren't the best team either. There goes your theory down the drain.

Championship bowl games[edit]
Attempts have been made over the years to determine a non-mythical national champion with an actual football game contested by leading teams among HBCUs throughout the United States. The Orange Blossom Classic was often billed as such a game, but Florida A&M, as its annual host, was guaranteed a spot in this game and was not always of national championship-caliber each year that it was played between 1933 and 1978 (indeed, the Rattlers were even accused of taking advantage of a system where most selectors named their national champions before the postseason; if the Rattlers were not named champs by any selector before the postseason, they still got a second chance at the claim by winning the Orange Blossom Classic[5]).

Contests including the Colored Championships of 1920 and 1923 (which happened to feature members of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, although the games were not played for the conference title), the Chocolate Bowl (1935), the Steel and Vulcan bowls (1940–41), the National Bowl (1947), and the National Football Classic (1954) were attempted periodically but without any sustained success.

The Pelican Bowl, a bowl game that tried to match up the conference champions from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and the Southwestern Athletic Conference, was another such example—and actually did manage to last several seasons—but even this venture failed to draw enough attendance and lasted only a few years in the 1970s. Similarly, the Heritage Bowl was played in the 1990s featuring teams from the MEAC and SWAC, but this bowl game has not been held since 1999 and was often snubbed by the conference champions in lieu of the NCAA's Division I-AA playoffs.

The two conferences began negotiations in 2010 to create a successor called the "Legacy Bowl"—not to be confused with the later exhibition game with the same name—to begin during the 2011 postseason, but it was voted down by MEAC officials.[6] However, in 2015 the first Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl was played, pitting the champions of both conferences. While the Celebration Bowl's trophy itself only includes the inscription "Celebration Bowl Champions,"[7] the bowl's creator (ESPN),[8][9] as well as its title sponsor (Air Force Reserve)[10][11] and other sponsors,[12][13][14] have indicated that it is for the HBCU national title—as have coaches of participating teams.[15][16]

An article from Kendrick in 2014

Now that the 2014 HBCU football season is in the books, voters from across the country will put pen to ballot and decide the inaugural Black National Champion.

The distinction, which crowns the best historically black college football team from either the FCS or Division II ranks, is mythical, because the title isn’t decided on the field as it should be.

HBCU Sports, taking a page from the College Football Playoff final four, has decided to create a similar paring to crown a national champion.

Done by voting....

In final balloting, Alcorn State State garnered 22 first-place votes and 267 points. Bethune Cookman was second with 6 first-place votes and 194 points. Southern University finished in third place with 183 points, North Carolina A&T received 2 first-place votes and was ranked number four with 179 points and Virginia State was fifth with 156 points. Winston-Salem State, Grambling State, South Carolina State, Alabama State and North Carolina Central State finished numbers 6-10 in the poll respectively.

In my opinion as long as there is a Celebration Bowl; Tennessee State would have to go undefeated and win the FCS Championship to be coined the Black College Football Champion. Which, I don't see happening. EVER.

Well hot damn, since ESPN has signed off on it and blessed it; it's truly legit now black people.

What the hell were we thinking having all those BCF National Champions without getting the good blessings of the folk over at the mothership.

We were lost and a confused people without ESPN.

Close up shop and case closed, we were lost and now we are found all because of ESPN which by the way is the Bible truth of BCF.

Ummm, these teams did not meet on the field and based off the final polling, VA State was crowned.

I can't with some of y'all. LMAO...

Ohhh, so ESPN and their corporate backed sponsors make the BCF Championship legit now.

Got it...

Didn't want to ruffle no feathers or those good folk may take away those official and legit BCF National Championships.

You thought Tenn. State was found when it joined the OVC. Now, after a few years of experience, you know better.
You made your bed, now lay in it.

The last time I remember TNST winning the OVC was in 1999 and I believe A&T beat them in the first round of the I-AA playoffs. It's hard to measure how good they are because jsu and FAMU have been below par the last several years.
