So where is this article that says the CB winner is the automatic champ?
Surely you all can find it since i'm so wrong.

ESPN and the Air Force Reserve proclaims whoever wins the CB bowl the national champs..of course they will because it's their game and they want to drive up ratings. ESPN has no history of proclaiming BCF national champs. There are publications who have been voting the champs for decades and they sometimes vote for teams outside of the SWAC and MEAC.

Like I said, there is no sure fire way to determine the BCF national champs.

And there are also pundits who introduced D-II HBCUs into past polls to determine who was the HBCU champion. There is no right in that, as there is no right in declaring TnSTU an HBCU champion as well. The champ will be the AFRCB winner.

Winning the Celebration Bowl does not equal BCF national champions. There have been votes for TnSU, Tuskegee, WSSU, and Virginia State within the past few years. If all the presidents came together and agreed that the CB will determine the BCF national champ, then they will. But that wont happen because there are good teams outside of the SWAC and MEAC who could win that game as well.

Bruh you sounding silly now. You seriously think one of those D-II HBCUs would've came w/in 50 points of Grambling St or NCCU/NCA&T last fall? :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D lmao! Please. Just because Bama St seems to annually bend over to Tuskegee doesn't mean the rest of D-I FCS HBCU ball would bend over to them. lol You've been spending too much time on onnidan w/ that small-man D-II complex they have going over there. :D

The Black College National Championship (BCNC) is awarded annually to the best historically black college (HBCU) football team(s) in the United States.

Initially, starting in 1920, the Black College National Champion was simply declared by the Pittsburgh Courier at the end of the football season. In the nearly one hundred years since then, other media outlets and organizations, sometimes more directly affiliated with the schools, also crown a national champion following each football season.

Over the years attempts have been made to determine the Black College National Championship (BCNC) with an actual football game contested by leading teams among HBCUs throughout the United States. The Orange Blossom Classic was often billed as such a game, but Florida A&M, as its annual host, was guaranteed a spot in this game and was not always of national championship-caliber each year that it was played between 1933 and 1978. The Pelican Bowl, a bowl game that attempted to match up the conference champions from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and the Southwestern Athletic Conference, was one such example, but this venture failed to draw steady attendance and it lasted only a few years during the 1970s.

The Heritage Bowl was played in the 1990s and featured the conference champions from the MEAC and SWAC, but this bowl game has not been held since 1999 and was sometimes snubbed in lieu of the NCAA’s then-Division I-AA playoffs. The two conferences began negotiations in 2010 to create a successor called the “Legacy Bowl” with hopes for it to begin with the 2011 postseason, but it failed to materialize.

However, in December 2015 the first Celebration Bowl was played at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA and before a national TV audience on ABC, pitting the champions of both the MEAC and SWAC against each other.

Damn right because GSU ain't bending over to no damn body. That was shown in that Arizona game.

Now if Tennessee State wants to prove something...tell them to leave the white folks alone or push their administration to do a 4 year series with GSU in Memphis.

Like I said..there is no agreed way to determine the champs. The first sentence in that article says THE BEST HBCU team. The last sentence is telling you about the history of the CB..it doesnt say whoever wins is the champ. The very website you put up has teams listed as National Champs who didnt play in the CB bowl the past few seasons. You in your feelings because I think TnSU will be better than Gram this season.

A grown ass man acting like a kid because I think another team will be better than his own. Yall had the juice last year..Gram was the undisputed best team in BCF last year but I like TnSU this season.
 
I'm just trying to see what would make them BCF champs? Just cause you like them this year? Disregarding the fact that you ain't even seen them play yet lol. Now that's just plain crazy.

We make too much money draggin' JSU in Memphis and to be honest the SHC = TNSU & JSU.

However, I would love to see the G-Men on the schedule. Grambling is the only HBCU that has a better W/L record against my Big Blue Tigers.

A TNSU & GRAMBLING matchup would be a great game this year. Like others have mentioned we are truly loaded.

Black College Football Champion

Simple as that...it means you are competing against a majority black colleges. If GSU was in the SEC and went 6-6 they should be default be the Black College Football Champion by your theory. Yet, not by mine because they are not competing against majority HBCUs.

Each year they play 4 HBCUs....a mixture of FCS and D-II. Personally speaking if Tennessee State wants to make some noise they should have played GSU, Prairie View, NC A&T, NCCU, Alcorn....beat them and then you have an argument. Playing teams D-II does not count. Yes, Tuskegee can beat mid level SWAC team but what about the best? Put them on the field with any of the previous 5 teams and I bet they get sent home with a BIG L.

Truth be told I want to see GSU play more OOC FCS programs than we do. That would create balance and a better gauge.

Also, I don't think any none FCS program should be considered at all because of the different policies from FCS to D-II.

As long as the Celebration Bowl is here Tennessee State will never be a Black College Football Champion. The team who wins the Celebration Bowl would have more than like run the table in their conference.

Ohhhh, so the CB makes the BCF National Champion legit now.

So the mothership says here HBCU's we are going to crown the HBCU Champ now because the previously crowned BCF champs were fake champs.

Attention all other HBCU's your BCF National Banner is not legit and fake because ESPN said so and your school didn't play in their CB.

Glad we cleared that up...

It brings legitimacy to the title. Hell Tennessee State of the last few years has not even competed against TOP HBCU programs....LOL

So to be fair let's only speak about the last two years....

2015: 4-6
Beat Alabama St, FAMU, and Jackson State - all three teams had a snow balls chance in hell of winning their conference

2016: 7-4
Beat: UAPB, JSU, Bethune Cookamn - again three teams that had a snowballs chance in hell of winning their conference

Let's go a step further.....they played Vanderbilt of the SEC and lost by 18.

Also, let's go further and examine how their conference:
Coaches Poll for FCS Teams
Austin Peay - not ranked
Eastern Illinois - not ranked
Eastern Kentucky - not ranked
Jacksonville State - #6
Murray State - not ranked
Southeastern Missouri State - not ranked
Tennessee Tech - not ranked
U-T Martin - not ranked

Now I would place real money on that following 4 schools if placed in that conference would either molloy whop the entire conference or damn sure make noise: GSU, NC A&T, NCCU, and Prairie View. My biggest concern is that in order to bring more legitimacy to the SWAC and MEAC we have to venture out more to TOP TEIR FCS programs to shut the folks don't believe up.
