Donnie Marsh continues to push his team during summer workouts

i relate this hire as significant as when grambling hired Lacy Reynolds off Bob Morelands staff in 94 or 95. it really set us back. it hurts but best of luck.

We hired Coach Marsh to bring the 1980s and 90s winning culture(look up @ the title banners in Elmore) of A&M basketball back but on a D1 level.

A hire with this type of experience was long overdue for A&M basketball especially since the school is in a regional recruiting hotbed for D1 college hoops.

I watched the workout after the. Bulldog Club Breakfast. The coach did a lot of teaching on fundamentals and strategy. The team will look different next year. Coach will announce schedule in near future.

"working on the foundation" ...you gotta love seeing things built from the ground up especially a new basketball program.

The players will know how to limit turnovers, shoot free throws, run the floor and handle contact.

That's it!!!! I've had wnough of you bulldogs rubbing this in our faces! Y'all are invoking coaching envy right about now :( . Oracle's post sent me over the edge.

Am I the only one that noticed Marsh was the only person that mentioned championships in their remarks during today's breakfast?

The AD didn't mention championships. I dont recall the other coaches mentioning it either.

Is that even a benchmark on their contracts?

Those other coaches know their limitations.

I enjoyed watching his practice. his attention to detail on defense is unmatched in division one basketball . I don't know how he is on offense because Davis ran offense .

Lol...There's more. They are learning to shoot off picks, how to pass the ball so the player can catch and shoot. Moving the ball by passing it and and not dribbling endlessly.

This is right here----> "Moving the ball by passing it and and not dribbling endlessly [and AIMLESSLY WITH NO INTENT]."

I cannot return to this thread. I'm about to bust my head overthinking wtf is going on @ PV?! :(

Claude Ham Mercy,

1st we have a thread about sTu football prowess, then we get "Hornet Hyperbole" and now 20 years later we're discussing the imminent attack and assault of AAMU basketball on the SWAC. smh & lol

Who jrock? lol...let me go on record to say I didn't say we're taking over the Swac.

Texas Southern will more than likely win it every year as long as Mike Davis is there.

Have some faith...Davis has had some advantages that will lessen or fade away in the future. He had a great facility for recruiting and allowed to plow the guarantee money back into the program. Now much of our guarantee money will be put into the program and the coach will have money for the 13 scholarships. Look.for us to not only be competitive, but to win again. We need to add to those banners hanging in Elmore that impressed bandfan when he first stepped in it.

Jrock weren't you just complaining about everyone giving Coach Marsh props for his work with the program so far? lol

Not complaining, just having fun with you all...lol With all of these high hopes, I can't help myself...

Right now he's having fun at all of the losing we've had...Prediction: In three years he will be complaining about all of the winning we will be doing. My, my how things will change in a matter of a few years...

I know jrock lol...we just know what A&M basketball culture once was in HBCU hoops & NCAA post season during the 80s & 90s..hosting regionals, going to the Elite 8 in Lowell, selling out Elmore on the regular with the whole city trying to see the games...

Coach Marsh will be rewarded heavily if he is successful cause this part of Alabama loves good basketball with a passion..it's been that way for decades.
