That did not include the freebies. We all know it was at least 5000 of them.

I did not attend the Cotton Bowl game, Iwent to the game in Cowboy stadium.

:D See? Alums don't even support their own school through thick and thin, for the most part. Maybe the newness will shine on some folks. Who knows. I actually want it to do overly well because it's going to help bring even more exposure to PVU and GSU. Not trying to single you out or speak badly of you ETT. It's just reaffirmation of my point regarding how black Texans feel about support is "differing" from other places where they pridefully support theirs- SU/JSU particularly. I felt some type of way being a PV grad and attending that game fall 2008. It's that same feeling I'm going to have as I witness sTu's homecoming game next weekend and looking @ those nice clean empty seats @ BBVA.

I was there in 2009 along with my wife and others and the game did rain because we stood under the walkway of the stands and watched the game for a while when we first got there until it stopped. It was the last game of the season and we were 5-5 going into the game.

He's talking about the Bayou Classic and the State Fair in Texas. It sounds like he is still salty because SU made the decided not to play it's home game in Jackson, MS, which is something totally different than corporate sponsored games. I don't think the City of Jackson, MS is in any shape to offer any school an upfront offer that would make it worthwhile for them to move their home game to Jackson, MS. Jayrob is like these crazy Republicans who wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act, but doesn't have anything to replace it with, which would eliminate health insurance for millions of Americans.

I wish JSU and SU could play in New Orleans or Memphis, and Jsu and Famu in Atlanta annually

Was there a game played fall 2008 @ the cotton bowl between UAPB and sTu? I think it was. I'm eldering but I'm not losing my mind just yet. lol

New Orleans kills the SU vs JSU game. No tailgating atmosphere.

SU vs JSU in Atlanta would be interesting. I like the Home and Home. The only way I would want to play this game in a neutral site is if both schools roll off each other schedule during the new 7 game mandate again and we wanted to play somewhere neutral and it was a money making opportunity. Otherwise the home and home is good for me.

I personally hope the SU vs TSU game fails, I don't want to share Dallas with anybody outside of PV !

*f'ing tears*

C'mon man...... LMAO! :D I think it'll actually help us. ::read:: The city of Dallas (council folks) said awhile back that they were seeking to add another HBCU game to north Tx. When a few went on record saying that, I didn't realize that the talks/contracts were already in the works lol.

Famu ain't gone play no j st annually before us smh. j st in Memphis playing Southern hell No!! Southern vs Famu is a while heated rivalry than j st. That game would draw easily 60 grand. Smh

Fixed it for ya!

However, I'd be more than pleased if Southern-FAMU returned to its home-and-home roots. To hell with playing it Atlanta or anywhere that isn't Mumford or Bragg.

That was the game that after I drove to San Antonio to watch sTu and UTSA in basketball.

Yea that is a hated rival game. That would b more money for us. I'm was just speaking on the history of the 2 teams and the many places we've played each other with huge crowds.

this is a big deal as sponsorship dollars in the city for that game is normally reserved for "that" game, the SFC....now someone else will be trying to pull those same sponsors initially so this will be interesting to watch..year 1 attendance will be very, very important to the point where...nevermind...not my fight..lol

I like the fact that this game is going to be played in Dallas. As some have mentioned, it is a no-brainer for both TSU and SU to have a presence in Dallas as far as recruiting students for their schools. I also agree that the PV vs. GSU is an established event for 90 plus years. I do not expect the first year to rival the attendance numbers of the PV vs. GSU game; however, I feel that there will be 30K in attendance. Should TSU continue to improve on the field in 2017 and have a good record going into this game in 2018, then we will travel. As someone else mentioned, there will be some people that will choose between both games but others will attend both. I have only attended a few of the PV vs. GSU games and vowed never to attend again because it was a side show. However, I wanted to attend this year because of the importance of the game in regards to the SWAC race, but got in late from a business trip and did not feel like making the drive.

They actually wanted another game, not necessarily a HBCU game. They did have a third game there for a few years but they didn't try to continue it since those fans didn't come out.

Fi, councilwoman said explicitly "another HBCU football game." She was very direct w/ her words. Yeh, they experimented w/ 2 weeks of games including variations of unt, smu, & tcu and all of them flopped.

We have TSUNAA chapters in Dallas and Fort Worth that will support the game as well as plenty from Houston area driving up for the game. Since this is an attractive match up for our alums they'll make the trip provided we are playing some good football.
