Why doesn't Steph Curry get the Cam Newton criticism

Players back in the day didn't whine as much. I mean players these days get tapped on the hand they would rather run to the ref than get up and play defense.
 



His image is different and so is the "rules of the game". Trash talk has become acceptable in hoops...football not so much. Plus the "image" of both guys is different. Curry is the "small kid who made it big", Cam is the NCAA rule violator who got away with something.

Plus as someone said, it's a matter of time before the media starts tearing Curry down.

Forget Laimbeer vs. Curry, I'd pay to see Laimbeer try that with Steph with Draymond Green on the court too
 
Just wait until Curry finally shows his "blackness." See right now, he's the underdog who made it big. Everyone's rooting for him. But let him support a black initiative or raise concerns about disadvantages in the black community as opposed to white community. It's all down hill after that.

He's going to stay far away from those controversial topics as much as possible, but at some point he's going to have to decide which side of the fence he's own. The world will do that to you eventually!
 
Those of us who have played any game know the other side talk smack. BTW the NFL official was caught on TV telling Cam he could not wear his gold boots in the Super Bowl. What a let down. There is nothing wrong with wearing gold boots. I like to see the young players back up what they are selling.

If he did that would have been a uniform code violation.

During the season Cam would wear custom cleats during warm ups and a different pair during the game.

He won't show neither side of the fence. I call it "The Jordan Approach". Respect Jordan to the fullest, but they never got him to talk on controversial topics. His famous saying behind the doors.."republicans buy shoes too."
A lot of star basketball players started following this format. If you pay attention Lebron did the Trevon thing but that ended up being a League wide thing. You never hear him and Kobe go out on a limb about black/white issues. So I believe Curry will take "The Jordan Approach"
 
I asked this question to my boys once too, but I truly believe it's because Cam embodies blackness and hiphop, while Steph doesn't. "Blackness" still isn't accepted in today's society and Cam's not afraid to be that, and conservative white people are uncomfortable with it.
People look at Steph and say he comes from a good family, beautiful mom, who they love.

Steph embodies blackness and hip hop just as much as Cam...True hip hop fans recognize this off top when they see it!

You must have forgotten that Riley was singing Blessed by Kanye last year at the presser. Also Steph be showing all his true colors on the floor. Steph and his teammates also do that running jumper celebration that Cam did on the field after touchdowns.

speaking of hip hop culture..Jay Z & Kanye attend Golden State games on the regular to see Steph Curry...I don't know if anyone else has noticed it this season

hell you would think Jay Z didn't have anything to ever do with the Nets the way he attends Warriors games now...

Steph hasn't shown himself to be a punk ass bitch like Cam. Maybe if he turns out to be a quitter sissy and a punk like Cam, the media will turn on him. Maybe Steph will always act like a man
