Nike and SWAC agreement revealed





Can somebody help me out here with just how many players a school might have on the roster?

Nike gives each SWAC school 600 pairs of shoes every contract year. The shoes are for the following teams: football, men's basketball, women's basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball, and men and women's track and field.


Football 73

Men/Women Ball 20

Volleyball 12

Softball 18

Baseball 18

Men/Women Track 30

Of course I'm just guessing so any help with accuracy is welcome. But if that's even close that comes to about 3 pairs of shoes an athlete
 
You forgot golf (men and women), bowling, tennis and soccer. Baseball is 25 I believe (still don't know how they came up with 11 1/2 scholarships)

So if you are a school that offers all of these sports, then that 3 pairs I gave initially might have been an overestimate lol
 
No I did not. Read the contract agreement


  • Nike gives the conference 750 plain white t-shirts every contract year.




  • Nike gives each SWAC school 600 pairs of shoes every contract year. The shoes are for the following teams: football, men's basketball, women's basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball, and men and women's track and field.




  • Beginning in the 2015-2016 year and each contract year, Nike gives the conference 40 footballs, 24 men's basketballs and 24 women's basketballs.
  • Nike gives two conference athletes an internship in Nike's internship program.




  • Nike receives four free tickets to the Bayou Classic, four tickets to the SWAC Championships, and four tickets to all home games of participating schools.




  • Nike can also buy an additional four tickets to the SWAC Championships. "All tickets shall be for adjacent seats, in prime, lower level locations," the contract states.
  • The conference is required to place a one-page ad for which Nike will have sole discretion over its content and layout for both the Bayou Classic and the SWAC Championships.




  • SWAC shall make Nike products available to the schools to be worn by team members and staff during practices, games, exhibitions, clinics, sports camps, locker room and sideline presentations, or other official school sanctioned activities.

They also get shoes to travel in.
 
But in football some will have practice cleats and gameday cleats plus the travel shoes.

Don't forget to add shoes for all the coaches & support staffs of those teams.

you still stuck on that..let it go...either way this is a bad deal. 1 off the field trainer and 1 pair of cleats is a bad deal no matter how you try to spin it.

The OVC school I work at has a Nike deal...the basketball program gets 2 game shoes and 1 off the court shoe..along with the warmups and bookbags same goes for the rest of the sports...

I know TN State has Adidas from what I hear they are slightly better than Russell in terms of relationships...I can say TN State gets practice cleats along with game gear...

Most the OVC schools have Nike or Adidas....I despise conference wide deals because it strongholds the institution ability to do business on their own.

As for the Southland i dont know anyone over that way to ask...

Ok. I was asking for the contract details mostly, since those provide true language and numbers overall.

No what I'm stuck on its stop freaking complaining about a shoe deal unless you show me proof that other fcs conferences are getting better deals.

Name one other conference besides the SWAC/MEAC thats has conference wide apparel deal? I'll wait...

Who gives a shit? You're claiming it's such a bad deal. What does it being conference wide have to do with anything?

Are you saying that it would be a better deal if each individual school work out their own deal and got 300 shoes?

If you could provide us with contract why not do it? Or Simply Name the schools?

I'll tell you why not. Because it'll be easier to confirm whether you're lying or not. Or you're simply lying about it from the start trying to play Mr in the click.

If I'm wrong it ain't that hard to prove since you're the in-the-know expert.
