not surprised...most of the teams are directional schools whose fans will follow what the big state schools do...most SHSU fans are interested in what UT or A&M does

With all the success Sam Houston has had the last 5 years or so they should be doing much better regular season attendance even more importantly but they are horrible.

Hey.... I thought all this playoff stuff has going to turn them into the next Appalachian State and have the Big-12 knocking down their doors.

Sheeeeeeeeeit!!!!! I only been to Huntsville once. To hell with constantly going to Texas version of St. Gabriel, Louisiana with all then jails

Lol...Looks like the NCAA made some money yesterday. The participants surely didn't.

And They aren't ashamed to say that they did either.

A SCSU poster actually stated that they would have had better numbers had it not been thanksgiving weekend. After he realized what he said he deleted it.

Lol....

Those teams are in those playoffs because they don't have a "Bowl Bid" to go to. Let someone offer one of those conferences a bowl bid and watch how fast they sign the deal. If the MEAC don't want it, let ESPN make the offer to the IVY League and watch how fast those smart boys show just how smart they are!

That is a real good point! But those on the MEAC Board calls it waiving the flag when you want to make money so you can latter have the resources to compete in a playoff that bring in no revenue! But I did watch the games and we should be glad that we was not in the playoffs because I doubt the MEAC or SWAC team would have won this weekend. Get some money, improve our programs and then come back and beat them.

Man, I am so glad you said this. Folks, for some strange reason, are under the VERY false impression that the Ivy League doesn't participate in the postseason, when in fact the Ivy League sends a team to the NCAA post season in just about everything else EXECPT football. I wonder why that is?

I've been saying that every since the meac back out of the Heritage bowl. Now folks want to act like they came up with the idea.

Exactly Kenn. They used the excuse that the playoffs interfered with student schedules, yet send their basketball teams to March Madness which is during then week deep in the spring semester.

What it boils down to, them mofos are business savvy. They want no part of the PIMP Playoffs to prove their worth. They had two teams that were playoff caliber this year.

That's what I don't get. If it's all about the NCAA getting paid from these games, you would think they would pair the best matchup, attendance wise, in the first round.
The best potential matchup for attendance was the Montana vs SDSU game. No other possible matchups would have given them more than about 7-8k max. And I bet they are disappointed in Montana's attendance

I would like to know the bid amount some of the host schools sent in. Chattanooga and Dayton just basically paid the NCAA to host a playoff game. 997 at $15 is only $14,955 and I'm sure the NCAA required a bid much more than that.
