Is it the SWAC fault a team is not playing in the FCS Playoffs?

Perception is the SWAC is eliminated from the playoffs before it even begins cause of the scg when in reality it's not the case but most races normally have come down to the bayou classic week or the week when the playoffs started

This year the race was over early and the campaign was to let folks know look this way since there is a worthy opponent...don't blow the league off without knowing there are qualified opponents

Braveheart seems to be jealous of GSU, SU and JSU. It's evident.

What is evident is that we had a fellow SWAC Member In PV that could have competed in the FCS Playoffs along with the SWAC Champion winning the Celebration Bowl. However, they are not able to thrive in the current SEAC environment due to the actions of others.

All SWAC Regular Season Games should be completed by Thanksgiving. No regular season games needs to be held on Thanksgiving Weekend and after (with the exception of the SCG).

When something adversely affects and prevents another school from representing our conference in a positive light, I have a problem with it and you should too.

They're so busy chasing after fools gold they don't even realize it.

Virginia is a state were Black folks are completely unaware and delusional on how things works. Although Virginia is politically a purple state, Black folks there are completely left behind when it comes to the distribution of tax dollars. And what makes it worst, Virginia is the most aggressive state when it comes to collecting taxes, which is why cars in Virginia are always getting towed due to something as simple as expired decals. Car decals in Virginia verifies that property taxes are current on a vehicle, which is something totally separate from tags and inspection. Now the state has allowed private towing companies to write tickets and tow cars at will, which I'm sure has a lot to do with expired decals and unpaid personal property taxes. Even Virginia's apartment complexes are involved. If person has a car tag for a certain apartment complex in a certain county and the car's tags and decal are not register to that county, the car can be towed. White owned companies that do business with the State of Virginia must see to it that poor Virginians pay their taxes in order to keep their businesses profitable.

PV controlled their own destiny and i'm sure their OOC schedule was a factor also do you really think those folks care about HBCU's? Did anyone from the MEAC make the playoffs? Keep in mind they don't have a championship game nor play on Thanksgiving. Can you answer that?

The SWAC and MEAC are the 31st and 33rd rated FCS conferences.....out of 33. Realistically that 6-5 MVFC team would probably crush PV and BCU. Am I saying I agree with it but then again, you can't really campaign that you should've gotten in at the end of the season when one of your OOC games was college of faith. Yes, BCU had an FBS win last year... over a terrible FIU team that won 4 games. Other than that, neither played anyone deemed as a worthy opponent. They already don't respect your brand so if you want an at large, have your AD start getting on the phone with the NDSU's, Montana's, Jacksonville State's and JMU's and they'll have no justification if you actually win those games. That's the only way it's gonna happen.

I honestly try not to respond to foolish posts, but if that's the case (using your logic), please explain why the MEAC didn't get any at-large bids. All of their teams finished the season last week.

Wait a minute. You telling me that using that SRS system (their own system), "sorry PV" and BCU, with their victories over sorry HBCUs, had better numbers than UNH but got snubbed despite having more Division I wins?

Basically what they're saying is we're just a bunch of "sorry" teams beating up on one another. The conference AS A WHOLE will have to improve and win some OOC games against other FCS schools. PV was the last team to do so against Stephen F Austin in 2013.

We are the only people that do this to our own. We downgrade BCU's win over FIU but JMU touts their win over ONE win FBS SMU this year as their best win. That makes no sense. What more do they have to do?

We can't have it both ways. You can't say get on the phone with these schools to play them but then people wanna crush Valley or AAMU for taking money games against these same FCS schools with no return game.

Do you think the perception of a certain team once having a 80 game losing streak factor in the decision???

I'm with Ken on this. I don't think 5 teams from one conference should get in the playoffs no matter how strong their conference is. The NCAA is just using the system to eliminate us. Yes, most schools should schedule a better out of conference schedule, but most of you are missing the point. The NCAA is discriminating on the MEAC and SWAC, but using strength of conference, instead of equality. Our conference will probably be never rated near the top. It should be something in the NCAA By laws for low resource schools to be assured of one spot per conference if you at least win 8 or 9 games and do not go to the SWAC Championship. Our Commissioner and Presidents need to lobby for this. Our HBCU Division II conferences lobbied for this a long time ago and the last few years, more teams were invited into the playoffs because DII takes the top 6 teams in the region, but if a low resource school is 7 or 8, they can jump the 6th team. A lot of PWI do not like it, but it shows equality. The fact is when we play the PWI or big boys in regular season, we will most likely have to go on the road, which is already at a disadvantage. Just a little food for thought!!! However, I feel that PVAM and BCU should have been representatives this year. PVAM was playing some of the best football in HBCU toward the end and BCU beat a ranked Grambling(would have been a playoff team) team on the road.

We are our own worst enemies!!!! smdh!!!!

Especially when we start blaming each other for the downfall of the collective group, which IMO was an orchestrated plan by others (NCAA and non-HBCU conferences) to divide and dismantle.HBCU conferences..

Bruh that has nothing to do with nothing. When have we not been a low resource institutions? As a matter of fact all fcs are except for the few posing as an fcs but are really fbs in diguise.

UNH got in over like 6 other teams with better rating than PV though, so the line would have been pretty long in front of them anyway

Remember they did the same thing in basketball the first couple of years with the SWAC and MEAC in the play in game until folks complained to the NCAA and got them to change it.

We don't have to worry about the NCAA and PWIs lobbying for that extra bid and blocking HBCUs since the MEAC gave theirs up. We can drag our own on our own.

Now that Alcorn's football schedule is out, let's say they beat Morgan State in the SWAC MEAC Challenge but lose to Arkansas and Alabama State in the regular season and go 9-2 like PV but nop SCG. Using the logic used in this thread, they shouldn't be considered for an at-large team because their victory against MSU doesn't mean anything and getting dragged by UA will hurt them (but it doesn't hurt other FCS schools)

SWAC MEAC were never both in the play in game.

Are you freaking kidding? They upset a pair of fbs schools and you think BCC 9-2 trumps that?

Jesus freaking Christ dude are you serious?

No, and like I said, until we show them we can compete with competitive schedules, we will continue to be considered at the bottom of the pole.
