Why Winston-Salem State’s Own Stephen A. Smith Is Wrong About Black Lives Matter

MISTAKE!, BROTHER!, MISTAKE!
BLACK LIVES MATTER

In Baton Rouge there's been 40 homicides of which 36 were Black so far in 2015.
You tell me what's ISOLATED and what's SUSTAINED.
So brother, Good Luck with your fight. I support your 100%.
But don't you EVER try to degrade the rest of us in the everyday trenches.
Here are all of the 2015 BLACK VIOLENCE MURDER VICTIMS in Baton Rouge.
MAYBE THE "BLACKLIVESMATTER" supporters can take some time out from trying to cut down other movements and join me in saying a prayer for these Black Lives because they also matter.

Once again: THE BLACK LIVES MATTER MOVEMENT IS FOCUSED ON RACIAL HATE CRIMES CARRIED OUT BY POLICE. Stop being dense and contrarian.

Try sending this to local advocacy groups who exist to alleviate these issues. The BLM movement was NOT formed to spotlight individual crime issues. Your absence of knowledge on this is atrocious and shameful!
Maybe you need to go back and RE EDUCATED YOURSELF 2kool
I support the BLM movement and I fully understand its purpose. I hate people like you snubbing your nose up at the local advocacy groups as you call them. It's not my intent to degrade the BLM. Never on any post have I said I don't believe in the philosophy or intent of Ms Alicia Garza. I think the movement is GREAT.
IF YOU WANT TO GO TOE TO TOE WITH ME ON EACH INDIVIDUAL SENTENCE IN HER BLM philosophy I welcome it. I will show you how absent my knowledge of the movement really is.
The movement was founded on the bases of injustices/discrepancies in police/court outcomes but it has grown to include much more, just read her philosophy.

Co-Black Lives Matter founder Alicia Garza detailed the meaning behind the philosophy:

When we say Black Lives Matter, we are talking about the ways in which black people are deprived of our basic human rights and dignity. It is an acknowledgement black poverty and genocide is state violence. It is an acknowledgment that 1 million black people are locked in cages in this country—one half of all people in prisons or jails—is an act of state violence. It is an acknowledgment that black women continue to bear the burden of a relentless assault on our children and our families and that assault is an act of state violence. Black queer and trans folks bearing a unique burden in a hetero-patriarchal society that disposes of us like garbage and simultaneously fetishizes us and profits off of us is state violence; the fact that 500,000 black people in the US are undocumented immigrants and relegated to the shadows is state violence; the fact that black girls are used as negotiating chips during times of conflict and war is state violence; black folks living with disabilities and different abilities bear the burden of state-sponsored Darwinian experiments that attempt to squeeze us into boxes of normality defined by white supremacy is state violence. And the fact is that the lives of black people—not ALL people—exist within these conditions is consequence of state violence.

Since you acknowledged that...why in the burning hell are you advising BLM to turn its attention AWAY FROM STATE-SPONSORED WHITE TERRORISM AGAINST BLACKS? Do you hate your people enough that you're willing to divert attention away from white terrorism in favor of intraracial crime? That's essentially what you're doing when you say things like this.

I'm Sorry for giving a STRONG BLACK ORGANIZATION that has its roots from the BLACK LIBERATION MOVEMENT of yesterday like the BLACK PANTHER PARTY credit for being to do multiple things at once.
Cofounder Alicia Garcia says in many of her speeches that the BLM is not One Dimensional.
Oh and By the way, I have been in the STREETS on the FRONT LINES for 25 years putting my time, money and soul into BLACK ISSUES.
Don't sell me short or try to play me for some IDIOT UNCLE TOM that just sits on his ass and complain.
IF I don't 100% agree with you then its not SELF HATE. It's suppose to be 2 BLACK people expressing their opinions.
Don't EVER ACCUSE ME OF HATTING MY BLACK PEOPLE.
Who the HELL are you to make that statement.
You made a PERSONAL ASSESSMENT OF ME WHEN I HAVE BEEN PUTTING MY ASS ON THE LINE.
I'M THE ONE FIGHTING THE WHITE MAN AND I DIDN'T NEED A MOVEMENT INSPIRE ME.
I HOLD THE WHITE MAN ACCOUNTABLE, I HOLD MY BROTHERS AND MYSELF ACCOUNTABLE AS WELL.

WHITE TERRORISM IS MORE THAN JUST WRITING ON A PIECE OF PAPER THAT MAKES SOMEONE READING THE WORDS BIG AND BOLD ENOUGH TO STICK THEIR CHEST OUT FROM BEHIND A DESK. GET YOUR ASS OUT IN THE FIELD AND I DON'T MEAN JUST HOLDING A DAMN SIGN.

My Take: Some of you need to go The FBI Files Episode "Shattered Shield". It tells the story of Len Davis aka "The Gangster With a Badge".

White Cops have not been the only ones killing Black Folks for years. The FBI Files was a good show. And let me tell you guys, folks like Alton Coleman and The Brily Brothers of Richmond, VA who were also featured on the show too did some foul and Satanic mess to their own race of people.

Here in DC, street people worship Wayne Perry like he is some sort of image of Old DC. Wayne Perry was also brutal to his own race of people.

Ironic though that the President that signed Martin Luther King, Jr. Day into effect was none other than Ronald Reagan "The Devil of the 1980s".

Dude, you're totally contradicting yourself and don't even realize it. In one post, you condemn certain Black folks, while ignoring the environments that serve to foster some of their behaviors. Then in another post, you make like you're supporting the very folks you condemned in your previous post.

Because he's been exposed and is now in backtrack mode.

Im done with him. His crap from page 1 is enough proof he's a suspected white supremacist.

Ironic though that the President that signed Martin Luther King, Jr. Day into effect was none other than Ronald Reagan "The Devil of the 1980s".
Dude, we know that there were many Black folks who turned on their own, but we also know that these folks were funded by White folks and the government to begin with.
Look at the Iran contra scandal where the powerful U.S. government and CIA in the early '80's and at the beginning of the crack cocaine epidemic helped to bring in millions of dollars of cocaine to Black communities in California that spread throughout the nation and destroyed the lives and infrastructure of thousands and thousands in Black communities in order to raise money to help by guns to help with the overthrow of the Nicaraguan government.
That's documented evidence that can't be refuted.
One can't leave that kind of business out of the equation when talking about crime, violence and poverty in inner cities? The two go hand in hand. The government knew who the real druglords were and turned a blind eye.
And here's the kicker. Guess who was President and Vice President and head of CIA during this Iran contra scandal when the millions of dollars worth of drugs were brought in? Ronald Reagan and George Bush Sr..
This was done mostly on the backs of Black folks in poor communities.
While Reagan was chanting to Black folks, "Just Say No To Drugs", his government were the very ones bringing drugs into our communities.

We as BLACK MEN have no reason to feel ashamed or embarrassed.
More power to our sisters.
That's our problem just because Black Women are being strong in the video you are saying that Black Men should be embarrassed.
GOOD JOB BLACK WOMAN, and this is from a STRONG BLACK MAN.
Oh and by the way
HERE'S A CLIP FROM THE SOUTH CAROLINA CHURCH SLAYING RALLY
BLACK MEN can put in work too.

1. I couldn't disagree more.

2.Sorry what was the problem again I didn't quite get it.

3.after reevaluating the situation, I have to admit that I may have fell victim to forgetting that the media shows us only what they want to.

Black on black crime, Chinese on Chinese crime, Korean on Korean Crime, Arab on Arab crime, Russian on Russian crime man I can go on and on. Seems like black on black crime is the only thing people want to discuss. Blacks kill each other just like every other race does. Even though it's a problem in our community at least the ones who get caught are brought to justice. When a police officer blatantly gets away with killing another human being right before our eyes then that's a bigger problem. These dudes are getting away with murder and have been doing so for decades. Cameras are the only thing that can save you.

I think I get Jagjack's point. He is basically we all have a choice.
He will support those people living in the struggle who are trying to survive.
He won't support those people living in the hood who decide to prey on other black people or accept excuses for their behavior.

I don't think anyone disagrees with that.

But pointing out the factors that have cultivated sustained systemic violence in these communities isn't an excuse, though.

Right. Read post #32.

In your previous posts, you only held Rayray and Pookie accountable, now you're singing a different tune.
Brother, I never contradicted myself.
If you think my earlier post to you was trying to kiss your ass and BACKTRACK as you call it, then go to the 3rd RESPONSE on this ENTIRE THREAD. This was my post:
"I believe 100% in the "BLACKLIVESMATTER" movement and I commend the young people for finally standing up for something."
I have CONSISTENTLY said throughout my post that ANYBODY (Black or White) that harms a BLACK PERSON should be held ACCOUNTABLE.
So George Zimmerman, Dylan Roof, Rayray and Pookie all have to answer for their SINS.

I think you all have the same veiw point. The truth is we all are sick and tired of the sense less killings of Black American's regardless of who kills them. The problem is we have to learn how to separate our emotions and stay focused. The bigger problem is taking both sides and tackling the issues and getting results. The two are separate issues, but must be resolved by us together.

Read my whole sentence. I'm not blaming black people for black on black crime. I'm blaming the high-and-mighty black folks who use black on black crime as a deflection.
And I'm using the SAME HIGH & MIGHTY BLACK FOLKS as you claim as the ones that come up with PSYCHO ANALYTIC EXCUSES for Pookie and RayRay in books, but I don't see them in the street corners and in the jails trying to rehabilitate or help RayRay & Pookie.

There you go again with that word "excuses". You still don't get it even though you claim otherwise.
Those same social science folks you accuse of not helping are the very ones who've done actual scientific RESEARCH proving the theory that one's environment DOES play a vital role in the lives of many who've temporarily lost their way.
That still doesn't mean that lawbreakers shouldn't be held accountable, nevertheless if one's going to tell the story, he needs to tell the WHOLE story.

All I'm saying and I have said it repeatedly in this Thread Mr. JayRob.
IS THAT WE ALL HAVE A STORY.
JAYROB has a story.
JAGJACK has a story.
Alicia Garcia has a story.
But JayRob's Story is not JagJack's Story.
Sometimes we make good decisions. Sometimes we make bad decisions.
Our story explains the role in WHY we make the decisions but they don't EXCUSE us from the consequences, good or bad as a result of the decisions.
I don't discount any Scientific Research/data findings.
I consider myself a HISTORICAL and SCIENTIFIC scholar as well.

This is the 1st of my FINAL TWO POST on this thread.
This Thread had about 130 views and after 3 days it appeared nobody would respond. So I intentionally broke the ice with a comment.
I thought the BLM movement subject was too important to let blow by on this HBCU website.
Even though I thought Stephen A Smith wasn't out of place with his comments I thought the direction of conversation would soon turn away from Stephen A. Smith and concentrate on the BLM movement. But the "black on black crime" dialogue took on a life of its on. Even I will admit I am very passionate about my people harming each other and I won't let that fight take a back seat to Nothing.
Alabama A&M's 2Kool called me a "suspected WHITE SUPREMACISTS".
Understand me people, I'm a Black Man, so when I say "Black on Black crime", I'm not talking to the WHITE public, I don't give a darn what they think or how they may want to twist those words because my own BROTHERS and SISTERS know exactly what I'm talking about. We don't have an ounce of SELF HATE in us as a matter of fact we hold ourselves to a higher standard than White people do. A white person may say something like "that's just another N---ER shooting so who gives a damn". They want us to shoot each other just as long as we keep our butts out of their neighborhoods. If a black shoots a black they don't give a damn but let a black shoot a white and all hell will break lose.
As long as the drugs and the killings stay in the black community the larger race is okay with that. The police know who has to drugs and who murders most of the people but they don't care because they know that the blacks in those communities will stay terrorized.
THIS, MY BROTHER IS SYSTEMATIC/ORGANIZED VIOLENCE.
There's many ways to this.
It can be fought from the Police State End.
It can be fought from the Community Upliftment End.
It can be fought from the Racial & Gender bias advocacy group End.
So one of my contributions is up uplift the potential crime/drug committers by reminding them of their proud BLACK AFRICA heritage BEFORE any crime is committed. But if they make a mistake then they will have to suffer the consequences.

FINALLY, GOOD LUCK, TO THE "BLACKLIVESMATTER" Movement.
The people in this thread may not think I'm down with you but I know you are smarter than that.
END OF POST 1 of 2

My FINAL POST on this thread.
ALABAMA A&M's 2kool called me a "suspected WHITE SUPREMACIST"
Well 2kool and I assume you are an intelligent BLACK MAN or WOMAN.
Here's your WHITE SUPREMACIST story:
Newspaper Article below:

ON Friday, Dec. 9, 1999 my youngest brother(real/same mother) was murdered in the middle of the day in a BR neighborhood that at the time was called "MALL CITY".
His mother
was at his side (my mother as well). His weapon, a can of vienna sausage.
He was shot 5 times, mouth, jaw, shoulder, chest(2). He was shot twice standing up and the other 3 bullets were pumped into him as he lay on the ground with his mother begging the shooter to leave.
Who
was the SHOOTER?
Hey JayRob, let me give RayRay & Pookie a real name. How about 25 year old (age at the time) brother GREGORY WILLIAMS of Port Allen, La.
I wonder what STORY did GREGORY WILLIAMS have.
He was raised in the home of 2 hardworking god-fearing parents.
He graduated from Port Allen high school.
He was the father of a 2 year old girl.
He had a job resume where he could hold on to bill paying job.
All of this came out upon discovery during the trial.
SO WHAT WENT WRONG FOR THIS YOUNG, STRONG BLACK MAN?
He testified that my brother attacked him a year earlier over the fact the he (GREGORY WILLIAMS) was using my brother's girlfriend as a SIDEPIECE.
REALLY?
HE was convicted of 1st Degree Manslaughter and sentenced from 25yrs to life.
My family felt robbed. We thought he should have been tried for 1st Degree Murder but the City Parish refused to go that route.
We felt the City/Police state lawyers didn't give a damn because it was just another n****r killing a n****r Death.
It appeared the lawyer sides(all white) had already unofficially cut a deal.
So when ANYONE on ANY FORUM tells me to take my sh-----t and go to another forum or that MY Sh----t isn't important or they are STUPID ENOUGH to call me a WHITE SUPREMACIST I will say to you that MY BROTHER, BLOOD BROTHER, WE BOTH CAME OUT OF THE SAME MAMA BROTHER HAS A VOICE IN THIS CONVERSATION.
AND AS A VICTIMS ADVOCATE I HOPE THAT THE BLACKLIVESMATTER movement recognizes those falling soldiers as well.
PS: I am a proud BLACK MAN and this incident encouraged me to try an help solve our Black people internal conflict issues because we are a strong black race.
