SWAC sports needs its own Finebaum

The Finebaum Show is hands down the #1 SEC related media in the country. That man has made a living off stirring up fan bases and providing a medium for fans to smack each other year round.

As much message board smack and sports discussion that goes on between the SWAC alums, we could use a radio/streaming show similar to this one.

I'll do it...but I'd probably piss off more SWAC fans more than anything LOL

Controversy sells.

If you listen to the show long enough, you can tell some of his callers are planted actors (or highly exaggeratory). Paul typically takes the side of the teams with the most recent success, and it riles up their rivals.

Back in the early 2000s when Alabama was down and out, he rode their president and AD until they were both fired. He called out the boosters for demanding a "Bear" guy as HC and it pissed Bama folks plum off.

He poked after Tuberville for his lazy recruiting (going fishing every December while other coaches were out recruiting).

Its great radio.

Basically you saying we need a 2 Live Stews type show that's SWAC-centered. Surprised with all the opportunities out there for someone to do it (BlogTalkRadio, UStream, Youtube or a BTR/Youtube simulcast), one hasn't caught on yet

I wouldn't mind doing one but I have to get my stuff in order first

Slowly but surely, HBCU Alums and Fans and starting to see the light. Thank You Lord. My work is creating progress.

Controversy creates Cash AND......provides Motivation. Maybe if I talk about say Valley not going to a SCG long enough, they will treat me like Spike Lee to Reggie Miller and be motivated to shut me up by actually going and winning it.

We have gotten "too friendly" in the SWAC. We need more trash talking outside SU vs. JSU.

Let's be real...SWAC Coaches are not going to provide bulletin board material anymore (unless old Habits never die with Jenkins). We haven't had a SWAC Coach talk noise since Ernest Jones was at Alcorn.

Somebody has to make it more interesting. I'm that guy.

I hate that kind of confrontational sports talk. It maybe fun for some fans, but to me, it's the worst kind of discourse, which is why I don't listen to Finebaum or any shows like it.

Comedy talked about SU and was fined by the SWAC office.

That's the beauty of it. You get real sports talk mixed with the other stuff. Players, coaches and administrators give great segments almost daily. They all support Paul's show because they know its free buzz and he won't tell anything thats off the record.

Yall better listen to 2Kool....

Understand, with this 7-Game Mandate, we talking about SU vs. FAMU, Alcorn vs. Howard, etc. These games have not taken place on a home and home basis in a LONGGGG TIME. Our Younger Alumni really do not know that these games were taken as passionately as in-state rivalry games.

Bringing the smack talk back would help draw interest and marketing. It will be needed to make this 7-Game Mandate work for SWAC vs. MEAC regular season Games (not to mention, it can only help the Celebration Bowl).

And HBCUs didn't need all that to cut a deal to participate in a bowl game. The entire premise that in order for schools to draw interest is for fans, coaches, etc., to talk bad about each other doesn't seem very productive.

What would have SEC Football in the 90s been without Spurrier and his jabs?

Can y'all imagine if Odums said "I'm gonna knock Fobbs head down to normal size" or Fobbs telling the Superdome crew to "make sure the lights are on bright because i didn't want to lose track of coach Odums" that's a extra 5000 tickets right there

You missed the part about the multimillion-dollar endowments, the five-star recruits and all the winning.

Kendrick, Smack Talk is good Motivation. It is needed for the 7-Game Mandate to work.

I thought it was all about the money? If Hopson or Odums would just smack talk each other, the Oct. 31st game would be off the chain. This is maximizing your revenue earning potential.

The only schools that smack each other consistently are ironically SU vs. JSU.

Kendrick, if Spurrier wasn't there to provide smack talk, that would have been a very boring product. Spurrier vs. Fulmer, and Spurrier vs. Bowden were epic due to the jabs taken.
