FCS Attendance 2014

I never said you know everything about SU. I said you THINK you know everything about SU and you've come up short once again. I guess little-man syndrome is a serious illness.
Don't back down now that you've tripped over your own lie.

Demand that Jindal and his administration provide accurate budget cut numbers without getting laughed out of his office.

It really does sound like you lost your subscription to The Advocate. What I last read and due to the works done by the state legislators, Louisiana's higher education will get fully funded. And this news has been out awhile. You definitely are slipping when it comes to current news in Louisiana.

Under the budget passed by the Appropriations Committee, higher education institutions' funding would be similar to what they received last year. Health care funding would fall $180 million short.

Yea, just think the Nursing program is probably the best in STATE, by far the best undergrad and grad in HBCU, the engineering program is starting a massive marketing campaign to.increase the number of grads, and the computer science program is growing and they just added a cyber security degree program, and.. with IBM moving in and the money being giving to.SU to.increase graduates in engineering/CS.... and the law school still one of the top producing law school for blacks, and with the decrease in law application in the country, SU is still the most popular by US NEWS for the 4 str year, and they have just been name by the Dept of Ag, as a research center along with Penn state and Texas AM,in urban forestry one can only.think when they money starts coming in and SU gets the funding back,, I.see great things happening.

Jag football fans are very astute in some instances and set in their way in others. If S.U. doesn't place a decent product on the field chances are the numbers will suffer as the season progress. Also, if a d-2 squad shows up on the home schedule (even worse if it's a d-2 PWC) the numbers will dip. You're right though, the Jaguar Nation loves to hit the road in certain places. I remember a few years back at Alcorn there was attendance of 33K when he played them (yeah Alcorn.....lol).
used to love it when SU came to town...

Yea when they winning!! I know they mentality! Ok Vet Memorial holds 60k of course they can hold 38k. At Mumford we will never average 38k. Why?!! Because Mumford only holds 29K. Yea u can say well Southern has a losing season there crowd attendance is down. True!! But if jackson aint winning they aint comin!! Ive seen where if our team has a losing season we still will lead the swac in attendance. Even in 2012 we lead the conference in attendance and thats with Stump was our coach. Like i said in jackson case yea they might lead the conference in attendance the ONLY I mean ONLY reason because there having a good season. AINT KNOW FANS LIKE THE JAGUAR NATION!! THATS REAL!! O yea check out James Bell era and see jackson attendance was back then!!
And if SU loosing there numbers are bout the same as JSU during a loosing season. Be real now. I'm a attendance fanatic when it comes to investigating attendance number. SU fans or Jaguar nation or whatever are just like most schools. Winning equals butts in the seats, loosing mean tailgating parking lot sold out. For proof go on swac.org and pull up football select SU, go to game stats and you go all the way back to atleast 2003 if I can recall and the attendance numbers will be right by the weather and start of game time.

Yea ok

It's all in the OVERALL SCHEME OF THINGS. Like someone stated on here, if a person reduce their expenses, it would automatically increase their revenue, although their income/check hasn't changed at all.

That's not how it works. Revenue is revenue. Decrease in expenses would increase profit or budget surplus.

If you go back and read what I previously replied to someone, you'll see that I already stated what you just typed. I was being purely sarcastic.

This doesn't make any sense. Non-revenue generating programs have ZERO impact on the total revenue. With or without non-revenue generating programs the revenue SHALL remain the same. The only thing that goes up is expenses, which means less PROFIT. Some of these delusional characters have very poor FINANCIAL understanding.

Here's a sample question for those that don't understand what changes revenue: If a person decides not to buy a new car over buying a new car, would that have an affect on that person's income/revenue???

Oh ok.

But even still....

Non-Revenue programs DO have an impact on revenue for small schools. The way schools count revenue, if there is no need to fund outdoor track, the "revenue" would decrease solely because there is no need to spend the money on those scholarships/equipment/coaches. Revenue generated from tickets/contributions/merchandise/sponsorships is not enough to fund those programs, so the money subsidized by the school would likely be unjustified at MOST FCS schools, thus decreasing the "revenue".

In that case that's a decrease in revenue, which I can see since there's no justification to use subsidized school funds for non-revenue generating programs. But if you read the complete thread and stop inserting yourself in the middle, you'll see that the person I replied to was trying to say SU's revenue increase due to the elimination of non-revenue generating sports.

That's deceiving. su doesn't field the allotted number of non-revenue teams, which allows it to turn that money into actual revenue.
Also those stats don't take into account how individual schools count revenue.
