I, unfortunately, can't find the orignial GOT thread that was created. It may have been lost in the platform transfer.

Did anyone check out the first episode last night (season 5)?
 



Yes. The show was slow but was probably developing plot lines for future episodes. Lots of new characters and still many unanswered questions.

Actually, one of the questions was answered in last night's episode......if you've been reading & keeping up with the books.

And who was new in the season opener? The only new character I can recall was Cersei & Jaime & Tyrion's uncle; the show didn't refer to his name, but in the book it's Kevan Lannister (Tywin's brother).
All the other characters were regulars (Cersei, Jaime, Tyrion, Varys, Sansa, Petyr, Brienne, Podrick, Margery, Loras, Danerys, Missendei, Grey Worm, Barristan, Jon Snow, Stannis Baratheon, Melisandre, Mance.....) unless I'm missing something.
 
Can't say that I have been keeping up with the books, even though I have tried, but I do believe we learned something from the witch who told (young) Cersei what her future would be like as it relates to being queen.

Actually Kenn, it's not only remaining Queen Regent that Cersei is concerned with, it goes much, much, MUCH deeper than that. Last night was only a glimpse of what's troubling Cersei, and as the show progresses, you'll see a major change in Cersei, and find out why she is so leery of her brother Tyrion (goes beyond the fact that their mother died in childbirth having him and the fact that he killed their father).
 
Can't believe the first 4 episodes of the season leaked on yesterday. I actually stayed up all last night until 3:00 a.m. watching all 4. :lol: Now my ass gotta wait another month before I see what happens next! :shame:

I read about that leak and I hope nobody comes on here posting spoilers. I already have it hard enough just trying to wait to see what happens the following week.
 
I'm new to this show, but binge watched the entire 4 seasons prior to Sunday. It's going to be interesting with Jon Snow and Stannis up at Castle Black.

Read the books Kenn........I remember when Season aired, I saw the very first episode, and just had to know what was going to happen next, so I went the very next day and got the book. Been reading ever since!

Ramsey's as nutty as a fruit cake.............but remember, Stannis Baratheon is on his way to King's Landing, and Winterfell is between the Wall and there. Trust me, he will make a stop in Winterfell......and he does know that Roose Bolton's backing (Tywin Lannister) is dead. Also, Stannis Baratheon did admire Ned Stark.
