2015 Honda Battle of the Bands Participants selected!





They got some heavyweights this year in mass. Wonder if all will show up.
This could turn out to be one of the best BOB in a long time.
You got number two ranked JSU, then number six ranked su then BCU, Tenn State and Bama State. A darn good lineup.

Some HBCU website. He been wanting something to combat the NCAA ranking SU got. LOL. Oh well.

Good list. JR may attend his first Honda.
 
SU keep talking about NCAA ranking, has the NCAA placed them in the College Hall of Champions yet??! JSU, GSU, and FAMU are already inshrined.
 
Which out BG them SUcks bout to descend on you like the JSU haten buzzards they are. They troll tread waiting for someone to say something positive about JSU. Don't bel me just wait and watch. They will discredited OBama if he said JSU was great!

That is about the only accolade the Black Man didn't get. The only award that I would love to see another HBCU get is the Sudler Trophy that only FAMU has. To me that would be the ultimate award. That Hall of Champions to me was based on how good their football programs were so those bands got exposed to them NCAA folks. SU is the only HBCU band that never had to ride the greatness of a dynamic Football program. Our NCAA HOF Coach AW Mumford was retired and passed on when Doc took over the Juke in 69. That man built the Juke legacy without riding those great football team coat tails.

Tn State is another snub that I wonder about as well. But it is what it is. You can't win them all. I will take them 5 Super Bowl Appearances, Radio City Music Hall shows, Rose Bowl Parade, Presidential Inaugurations, World trips, etc that the Juke has gotten. When it comes down to it. We still getting the big time invites 46 years after Doc took over. All you can ask for. Jay Rob just wanted to throw that ranking thing out there to ruffle feathers after the NCAA rankings came out after last season. Then some website did a ranking that favored JSU more so he has been throwing it out there. LOL.

JR, cut the crap, if Southern was enshrined in the College Hall of Champions and JSU wasn't, ya'll would be squealing like pigs! I think character issues has kept Southern out.

JR I agree on the snub of both bands. But JSU has twice turned down selection to participate in the "World Band Competition". Now I'm not going to lie and say it wasn't because of funding being the reason we didn't accept. They only pay for so much the rest is on each band. It was still an honor being selected twice. JSU, GSU and FAMU are the only three HBCU bands ever selected. This competition is held internationally. Our last invite was under Liddle. It was being held in Japan.

Money is always a factor sometimes. Bands get invited to stuff and them cats don't want to pay everything. I used to wonder why sometimes Doc would turn down stuff. He would tell us the money was not right.

And the way Haymer's acting ain't helping none either. He's alienating folks for no reason at all when he's still wet behind the ears. He's trying to embarass veteran band directors.....something that's not very smart at all.

Shole ain't hurting them nice sponsorships he is reeling in. Dude is a smart guy. Business minded. Way more business minded and POLITICAL than Jackson was. That's why we compare him to Doc. Haymer already has SU getting stuff from folks that Jackson didn't dream of. Is he arrogant. Yep. So was Liddell. SOP83 will tell you Liddell didn't take isht from folks. LOL.

Haymer is going to be just fine. He is very connected. All the way from Gulfport Ms. So he got some of that SIP swag too.

JR, why do you play song after song when the other band's playing? That's dumb and it even takes away from his OWN band. His arrogance is overshadowing the fact that he not being very entertaining when he does that over and over. It's like he's trying to be the spotlight instead of letting his band be it.

Stanford is ranked in that poll also, not a very creditable poll, those guys are more undisciplined than Southern's band! I guess they wanted to rank a HBCU band similar to Stanford's band and they found Southern. With Haymer as Director, Southern should be ranked #1 for foolishness in this poll next year!

Well it is the NCAA themselves who did the ranking. Stanford does political sketches and stuff. So does Rice. To each it's own.

You shole right Broh...I love it now when I'm able to be around Mr. Haughton and hear those stories of how he had to negotiate stuff for the BOOM back in the day. If it wasn't right or he didn't get what he wanted, he would leave em standing there.

I shole wish we could get that Sudler too...

Yeah that Sudler would be nice. Got to give FAMU their props on that. The ZN bruhs are going to be in ATL for the Honda Battle. We will all have to get together
