Man. I was in that Superdome last season watching JSU's offensive line handling Tulane's best defensive line NOLA has seen from them since 1998. Tulane's starting defensive line, (that included 2 experienced SEC transfers and 1 C-USA all-american), were getting embarrassed up front for most of the game and allowed JSU to lead the entire game in yards. 2 of those guys are currently on NFL rosters. As some of you already know, I made my SWAC Championship prediction after watching that game. JSU's line looked too strong for the SWAC to me.
In the Mississippi State game, JSU's offensive held their own allowing their offense to come close to 300 yards vs that Bulldog SEC line. If JSU receivers and linebackers would have been so terrified, that score would have looked a hell of a lot better. Watching that game, I found myself screaming at JSU's WR in entire first half for dropping so many beautiful thrown balls.
Anyway, Black is going to have a fun time working with all of those lineman Comegy has coming to Valley.
Off Topic:
(I was told by a credible source that Valley has another DT on the way from Illinois. This same source told me that Valley was going to get that JUCO QB they got and that 2 star recruit Tusun Young was going to decommit from UAB to play for Comegy before anyone posted it.)
I watched that Jackson State vs Miss St game as well I saw the same thing. Black really had JSU's offensive line playing on another level against that SEC defense. It's too bad the WR's were simply too scared to play because it would have been a different game. Those guys were dropping so many wide open passes! Black had Central, Tuskegee and FAMU's offensive lines playing tough and physical as well. Valley is going to be solid up front with him working with those big fellows.
Your source is right. That kids name is Willie Clay from Chicago.
Jackson State had the best offensive line in the SWAC each year under Black. He might be the most effective coach on Comegy's staff.

He was the ONLY coach that knew what he was doing. Especially on the offensive side.
Lol!! Come on dude!
Comegy has winning records at three different schools on three different levels as well as a NAIA National Championship ring and 5 conference championships. Not many coaches in the FCS ranks can say that. I know you JSU folks are frustrated have reasons to be pissed at him for losing 3 title games, but it's not like Comegy and his staff don't win several games.
Dude, I can win in D2. Just give me a bunch of rejects and criminals and watch how I run the D2 ranks. And why did Comegy ALWAYS have problems with the SAME 2 schools in his conference? Albany St and Ft. Valley?
And you have to be a complete moron not to be able to win at J-State (see Bell).
Ask those kids whom he snatched their schollies and some who REALLY played for him. Comegy is a great recruiter, GREAT RECRUITER. But that is where his "Greatness" stops. Once the kids make it to campus, their development stops there. The only ones that develops is OL under Black.Wow.
Well, I know some JSU fans had their reasons for being frustrated, but Comegy is a proven winner and fierce recruiter. I don't have any first hand knowledge of what type of person he is, but I have been told the kids love him and seem happy to play for him. Valley can only move up in the ranks with him as their coach. If this doesn't work out, then I will be shocked! I think Valley made a great hire. This 2014 class will be a bunch of talented faces. This should be interesting.

Rico Richardson dropped two sure passes that would've been TD's. Those two passes could've got him drafted in 2013. The way he got behind that defense- i wasn't sure if MS State would win any other games that year.
I watched that game myself and was super pissed with JSU's receivers as well. The JSU offensive line gave the QB all types of time to throw the ball and the receives were open. That game left SWAC fans once again saying,"we wouldn't have gotten blown out if....."
I must say, I love beating JSU, but Black had their offensive line playing like FBS program. As I have told you before, Tulane had 3 kids on their defensive line who were picked up by NFL teams that were getting man handled by JSU's front.
Valley has a winning head coach who can find kids like 6'3 300 pound California JUCO star Lawrence Schuster to come in and learn under Black for two years. They might have been struggling for lineman in the spring, but they have a bunch coming in who have 4 or 5 years under Black, (if he stays that long). That's a good sign for their program.

You drop a lot of names and measurables, but what do you know about these kids? Like the DT you touted from Illinois, what is it about him that has you excited? When I looked at Valley's class, it reminded me of most HBCU classes. A couple of guys who were recruited by other schools surrounded by a bunch of guys that had no offer at all. Not a bad thing because u never know what these kids will turn into, but you're hyping Valley's class like they signed a bunch of blue-chippers.
