Is ALCORN That GOOD?

I still have doubts because we were up on them 21-7 at the half last year before our offense self-destructed and Hopson went ballistic on the sidelines. They do have some holes.

:lol:...my psychology is working. Alcorn will be horrible this year. We will suck completely. Surely a team that loses five seniors (two of which didn't play last year) will suck. Alcorn will suck this year......for teams playing them.

Going into this season, they are a favorite without a doubt but just like all the favorites (Alcorn, SU and PV are the best on paper going into the season), they have flaws. No SWAC team is head and shoulders above the rest of the conference

We should have beat them :lol:

I picked them to go to the SWAC championship this year two years ago. I knew what Hopson is about and called him a great hire. I don't see him there in 2015, but the man is a smart recruiter who used his coastal ties.

I don't attest to the accuracy of this but Alcorn was one of the better teams last year...just considering FCS teams. I think A&M had a really good run defense which caused problems for Alcorn, but Alcorn missed a field goal and lost that game.

Alcorn is the team to beat in the SWAC. These "close game" stories from 2013 is for the birds. At the end of the day, Alcorn won 9 games in Hopson's second year. That is impressive for a team that is bringing back a sh_t load of players. Future champions find ways to win. Some game are pretty and others are ugly. The 2005 Grambling SWAC Championship team finished 12-1 with the only loss coming in week 1 to Pac 10 WSU. I watched that team pimp slap AAMU 44-0 in the regular season, and slap them again 45-6 in the championship game. That same team Valley by 15, ASU by 5 and UAPB by 3. In those 3 games, GSU was one or two plays from losing. You know you have something special when your players can reach down deep and win. Alcorn is the team to beat this season.

Alcorn won't get credit until it begins playing quality OOC FCS schools and not the pathetic D-2 and NAIA schools year in and year out. Why you guys are giving this man all of this credit for winning nothing is beyond me.
This guy has put ONE quality FCS opponent on his schedule since he's been at Alcorn. What is he afraid of?

I disagree but I do think they will be good once again. I just can't see them having what it takes to dethrone JSU or AlaState. People are hyping them up but seem to forget that they finished THIRD in the EAST last year... which would logistically put them at 4th place in the SWAC behind JSU, SU, and AlaState.

su has NO flaws when they lost the starting QB?! Are you kidding me?
PV has NO flaws when they had the overall worst defense in the SWAC?
Alcorn has NO flaws when it couldn't even win it's own division last year?
:lol::lol:

Where did he say they didn't have flaws, Jayrob?

Alcorn is returning a helluva squad...it what it is....some folk just hate to face facts....if Alcorn had not squandered, they surely would have played in the SCG....

So with the descent squads JSU had the past seasons, who did yall play OOC besides State and USM.....Why was Comegy so AFRAID if JSU was so great??? Give credit just as it's due....the same drubbing the NAIA got yall got so what's it point????

Well, we play Tenn. State every year and this year we have FAMU. Comegy was afraid of competition too from quality FCS schools. We got on him about that too, especially with Stillman and Paul Quinn on our schedule.:smh:
