I Can't Take It Any More!!!

One thing I learned after this past football season with Florida and the last few years with SU, never take winning for granted. If Alabama, Miami, USC, and Georgia Tech(sorry TP) can fall off big time and have bad seasons from time to time, the same can happen to any football team.

SU is not traditionally a winning program tho. Neither is Florida, really.

Define traditional winning program. SU is no Grambling or FAMU, but we definitely have a good football history. Florida was always a solid program, it just took them a while to win a title(like JR said that is how you judge great programs). You combine the 3 decades of not having a losing season with the resources and access to the nation's top talent, Florida has no business(unless under NCAA sanctions) having losing seasons. I mean during my lifetime Florida has always been a championship level program. I never in a million years thought I would see Florida get a beat down from Vanderbilt and Georgia Southern. I never thought we would have a stretch at SU like we had between 2005-2012. It can happen to any program if things aren't in place to continue that winning tradition(coaching staff, talent, NCAA compliance, etc....).

SU has a relatively solid history but once JSU and GSU entered the SWAC, they were a nobody til Pete came.

You do realize Coach Ace Mumford tamed both JSU and Grambling. It wasn't until his death that JSU and Grambling start making some noise. Mumford was 4-0 against JSU before he passed.

TP is crazy. :emlaugh: S.U. leads the series by 1 and only .008 separates the two in winning percentages though S.U. has played more games than jsu has....... :emlaugh: Grambling's winning percentage is a little better .068 though they have played less games, but they too are behinds in the series by 1 game as well.

You do realize TP knows nothing about football. You'd do better asking 96Lioness or Bleeding Blue Fan or hell, even DCG.

Following this logic, Yale is the best football team in the country.

Not if you use common sense.......The metric is basically saying that Yale has the highest winning percentage (minus Mercer) and wins in the country based on who they have played and the amount of games played over the years.

Dude, you posted that nonsense without first thinking about it. Some football teams were formed dozens of years before others but that means nothing. Yale's football team was formed before any SEC team but I guarantee you Yale couldn't beat the worst team in the SEC.

They only post what puts them in good light... Remember when they used to post stadium capacity percentages? Yeah, me too.

I realize you haven't been around that long. Those numbers were posted probably 10 years ago. :emlaugh: This is just an updated version. There are a number of things that put Southern U "in good light." You just have to research it and open your eyes (whether it's in TSPN forum archives or outside sources).

Thats like some teams went 3-0 vs ****. If they only played 4 times...

Bottomline, SU was successful before 1959. Not so much after that.

Hey JRock, how many SWAC titles SU have since the Kennedy Administration?

Like I heard on that other message board one day, this certain school definitely live in the shadows of a SUperior school in its conference.

They are forever reaching. :smh:

One day.. it's ONLY championships count.
Now, they got a lot wins so that counts... but they KEEP asking what JSU got for all those Ls we drop on ALL of their azzez. JSU has the most wins in the conference in the last 4-5 years but no title but they say we got NOTHING for kicking their azz. Oh well.
