Might see a big increase in AAMU's figures real soon. Lots of changes happening on the Hill athletically!!

If they were in the SWAC those numbers would be much higher for sure. We know Tenn. State fans primarily attend games when an HBCU is the opponent.

But they don't need the SWAC lol... according to their posters they have the best possible situation

Sometimes it's better to be a big fish in a small pond. Sometimes it allows you to call your own shots.

Moving to the SWAC doesn't mean a greater net profit.

While playing in the SWAC may mean more in ticket sales, expenses for all sports would trump that increase.

Something I've been trying to say to you Liberal Arts Majors who never took a business class in your life.

Besides who the f*&^ wants to be in the SWAC. Did you read Get Ready's article about life in the SWAC.

"They say shit rolls downhill. If that’s the case, the SWAC is in serious trouble because the conference is led by the most incompetent commissioner in the history of organized sports, Duer Sharp."

Side Note: I think we are second in the OVC. JxSU had to make more then us at the gate. They have a nice fan base and solid athletic program.

We don't believe you, you need more people.

Liberal arts dude
The OVC has 12 schools with 5 of those schools in the state of Tennessee with every other school being in a bordering state. It's that simple. If u can't understand that your challenged

And you still can't get anyone to come to the games?

You don't have a baseball team for starters. That sport has incredible travel costs over the course of a season.
Also, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Jackson State, Mississippi Valley, Alabama State and Alabama A&M are within 414 miles of your campus and in neighboring states... so in essence half of the conference is in that precious drive time window that the majority of the OVC schools are in...

The OVC is STILL a one-bid basketball league, and you guys -- like everyone else -- are hitting the road in the non-conference taking guarantee games before the conference schedule to balance the books.

Oh and in football, you don't play Jackson State in Jackson. So right there, one of your biggest paydays has some savings because of reduced travel.

Since you're insulting my "liberal arts" education, riddle me this you big time Fortune 500 CEO you ...

Football drives college athletics. Why are you in a conference where all the member schools are closer in distance, but they don't show up to your stadium for your games in one of America's largest cities? What turns those other OVC schools' fans off about playing TnSU in Nashville? What turns your fans off about seeing the other OVC schools play TnSU? Why are you bragging on geographic proximity to other institutions when statistically speaking your geographic proximity to other OVC members has not translated into increased ticket revenue from 2008-13?

What's the use of harping on "reduced travel expenses" in college athletics when football pays the bills and four other SWAC institutions have made more than you?

I'll be waiting over here while you supply some statistical evidence that proves your point. At least come with some proof. Until then ...

We don't believe you ... you need more people

Oh BTW, Texas A&M could've stayed in the Big 12 and bragged about geographic proximity ... but they saw that SEC money and went for the money. You see where I'm getting at, right?
You do realize this round of conference realignment doesn't a damned thing to do with geography ... it has everything to do with maximizing revenue streams? Another question, big-time Fortune 500 CEO ... what does TnSU plan to do to maximize revenue? Obviously that ticket revenue with that good geographic proximity to other OVC members is doing wonders for the athletic department's coffers.
