Okay. Then the Presidents should go back and revisit the original vote in 2011. Don't just keep making exceptions every year. Change the stupid rule that never should have been put in place.

However...there does need to be some sort of punishment from the conference for these repeat offenders.

.........

Presidents have egos and rarely do stuff like that. LOL They feel that they were put in place to CORRECT what the previous guy did, not continue it. Well... our current chancellor voted the same as the previous guy did (against the rule).

To the idea of "repeat offenders"... slippery slope. Any time a school has a low single year APR it hurts the next 4 years of rolling APR calculations because that bad year is included. You basically cannot get above the threshold in 1 year and probably not within 2 without waivers.

Dude you're wasting your time trying to get the black tea party to deal with facts.

This is why I don't see why yall was all sad about JSU bus burning up. Not me, I was singing "The bus, the bus, the bus is on fire. We don't need no water let the MF burn. Burn mf, Burn".

Now, I haven't read any off the posts yet & I will. I just clicked on page 5 and saw CEE DOG post. Mane CEE you killing me...my co-workers this morning are thinking I'm crazy...LOL!!!

Maybe this has been talked about in the Sports Board and I just never paid any attention, but our Conference/The Commissioner/Presidents can't they put things in place as a preventive measure to keep this from happening?

It just seems as if we are simply schools that are affiliated with each other but everybody is doing their own thing. Strong accountability measures should be in place. This would help each one of our schools to handle our business and keep everything intact.

They have but everyone changes their position on the issue once it affects their institution. And Duer instead of being the leader of the conference is pretty much the presidents do-boy so anytime this comes up he leaves it up to the council (the presidents of all 10 schools) to come up with a decision. Every year it changes no consistency. Which makes our HBCUs and the SWAC Conference look foolish....

This is a sad day for black America....

And wonder why we get laughed at by the rest of America colleges and universities even the MEAC programs are doing better than the SWAC...:smh downright embarrassing and the clowns in this thread defending this mess!

Where's your source?

Just close that popup and then click the link to the story.

Me neither. The conference continues to make decisions that make us look like a joke.
! :noidea:

Yep.....

Seriously, how do our Universities keep getting caught in this situation? Is it really just exposing the incompetence in our departments?

or lack of innovation. I remember a few years ago I suggested that schools make sure that every required course for any major had morning offerings that athletes were given first dibs for and people on the board mocked my idea. I remember in school how my teammates in majors like engineering or computer science basically had to decide between playing ball and graduating on-time because the classes for those majors were only offered during practice time and a few cats basically stopped going to class.

I remember that Pop. I was with you on that.

The bottom line is our schools are hard headed. Big Worm spoke about the same thing with classes his players needed to take were not offered for them to come to practice. Pete said the same thing. I guess he let his players skip them classes.

Our players are not dumb. The issue is the other schools allow their players to major in whatever they can steer them to as TBF has said and they schedule all the classes Athlete friendly at those schools. Some HBCUs have figured that out. The other thing is some schools do not care about winning in the MEAC so they will recruit kids who are actually smart to play ball. I keep telling folks that we need to use the Service Academy model. Especially Navy. They win at the FBS level with players that are not FBS caliber. But them mofos are smart as hell. So they can be coached up to do the right things and stay disciplined on the FIELD which helps keep them in games or win games. If they were FCS they would win the FCS title every year. LOL.

Or as some have said. Move to D2. Now I don't blame the SWAC for saying fugg the NCAA ban. They don't have our best interest at heart and we are being foolish to sit here and say we are embarrassing Black America. The PWCs don't care either. Look at UCONN. They just won the NCAA title after being APR banned. All they did was SPEND money to fix their issues. Those kids ain't any smarter. They just are playing the game the rest of them bigger schools with resources are. Some stuff we are killing ourselves with incompetent people who don't know how to deal with this APR stuff. We have hired wrong at many of our schools. I would imagine the MEAC and their EAST COAST mentality don't allow them to hire too many pookie and ray rays who somebody's cousins or local folks who have no business working at our schools. I spent a lot of time at Hampton during my Navy days in Norfolk and met a lot of their administration back then. They had a first class run school when it came to academics across the board. Not surprised when you don't see them, Norfolk State, Howard, Morgan State etc showing up on this APR stuff. The only one having issues is FAMU. Ironically the most Southern or the MEAC schools outside of BCU in Daytona.

Pop, I know you don't like some of them Howard and Hampton people. LOL.

Dude, su got a free pass in the SCG game. What more do you want?

How did we get a free pass? We won our games to get there and we beat your school to win the game. A game that should have not even come down to that play on our end. We outplayed JSU the whole game. You got some gifts to get back in that game in the first place. Hell, you got a gift in the first game with that short pass to a wide open TE that would have won it in BR. So turnabout was fairplay. LOL.

Technically, su was ineligible.

 at the bolded especially about UConn. So they were able to go from being on an APR ban in 2013 to national champs in ONE year with basically the same team but we're the "stupid" schools. The APR issue with them was due to Calhoun and nothing to do with Ollie (much like us who got banned because of Woods and not Potts (or the APR ban (barring a waiver) in football is all on Morgan and nothing to do with Comegy).

No we were not. The NCAA had not conducted their reviews and made any decisions. That's like saying technically Penn State was on probation during that Fall when the investigation was going on. Same for USC, Ohio State and Miami. Not to mention the players in question were not on SU's current team. Stop reaching for straws. Had PV been in the SCG. They way yall were playing dumb ball. They would have beaten yall too.
