For sure, not in the last 4 years. I don't remember 2009. But it has been close to 10 years when that happened.

BTW, Do you think Russell will pitch again this tourney? I remember folks at last years tourney complaining how fast he worked on the mound. It was like as soon as he got the ball back, he was ready to go again. Coaches were making batters intentionally step out to mess up his rhythm. But it didn't work. :lol:

He's slowed down his pace a little. Dude can just play. Before he hurt his knee last year he was the best hitter and pitcher on the team. He's a good kid too, we really enjoy him when he comes to Alcorn.

Seems like the East will go 4-0 on day one if Bama State defeats Grambling. Haven't seen that ever happen for one division to sweep the first day.

They are losing 9-8 in the 8th inning

Tried to stay up to see who won, I just couldn't hang. I was hoping Grambling could get the win knowing that if AAMU had to play either teams, Bama State would be hardest to beat.

You all said anyone could win this tourney, I guess this game is proof that you all are right.

SU had the best hitting team in the West. The starting pitchers were solid, but the bullpen was horrendous. SU lead most of its SWAC games, until the 7th and the the bullpen would blow it.
