This could wind up being a pretty short ban, says the New York Post.

Disgraced racist Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is battling cancer — surprising those around him by beating the final buzzer for as long as he has, sources told The Post on Thursday.

The source said some of the medication Sterling has been taking is responsible for the puffy appearance of his face.

Re: Donald Sterling battling cancer

That dude is done. The NBA has decided to move on without him and with his views of others, he would not have made a good representative on a global stage. I'm looking for the NBA to have teams in other countries beside Canada real soon. The NBA has basically peaked in the United States. It's time for the league to move on. There's approximately 5.6 billion people the NBA has yet to reach directly. Soccer might not be the world's popular sport for long.

Re: Donald Sterling battling cancer

The paranoid racist has left his Beverly Hills home for a home in the Malibu Hills in fear of it being bugged. A man with his wealth shouldn't have to worry about being bugged. He knows that individuals bigger then him is giving him the boot. I hope they do to him like the character Dan Aykroyd played as Louis Winthorpe III in the movie Trading Places. Maybe he can live his last days on earth as a poor man depending on Blacks.

Why are ya'll so hard on Sterling? If someone secretly record your conversations when ya'll talk negatively about white people, ya’ll would sound racist also.

The difference is, most of us haven't and can't influence the livelihood of White people, which appears that Donald Sterling made a lot of Black people suffer due to his racist views.

For a Jewish person to say that all Blacks stinks, it makes you wonder if Donald Sterling family was one of those Jewish families that helped Hitler exterminate other Jews during WWII.

Re: Donald Sterling battling cancer

The L.A. Times dug through its archives to find a story that was covered pretty thoroughly at the time, but largely forgotten now. The then-San Diego Clippers were a mess of a franchise after Sterling bought them in 1981. In attempts to cut costs, Sterling fell behind on paychecks, forced players to fly coach despite first class being mandated in their contracts, and attempted to move the team to L.A. (He would successfully relocate in 1984, still without the NBA's approval.)

There was a tape involved, too. Sterling was recorded saying his team needed to finish last to land Ralph Sampson in the draft—yes, the NBA used to get upset about tanking.

A special six-owner committee formed by the Board of Governors recommended that the NBA terminate Sterling's ownership. "He's as good as gone," one NBA exec told the Times. A month after that meeting, according to a contemporary AP report, the NBA ordered the league's other teams not to conduct any business with the Clippers without first gaining league approval.

So why did Sterling keep the team? After the committee met, the next step was for the league's Advisory-Finance Committee to review the recommendations, before passing it on for a full vote of the Board of Governors. It never made it that far. A week after the six-owner committee met, Sterling announced he wanted sell the team.

And who gives a damn enough to want to bother recording what we say about white folks and other races. Run a story on CNN about what Mike Rob said about some white folk and see how much it registers.

Re: Donald Sterling battling cancer

While I think he is a despicable human being, I would not wish cancer on anyone.

Like I said, he hates himself. He changed his name to Sterling. Who does that in the land of Hollywood. He had plenty of Jews to socialize with to fight off the MAN. LOL. But he chose to be Sterling instead of Tokowitz.
