Why is it easy for Caucasians in small towns and cities to succeed without degrees?

Re: Why is it easy for Caucasians in small towns and cities to succeed without degree

Why Caucasians are successful without degrees and blacks being held to a different standard has nothing to do with that stupid ish he's talking about. :emlaugh:

You are so right. Some people are definitely in a state of confusion when it comes to racism. It's almost like they don't what to deal with the negative impact that others create for Black people in general in this country.

Sitting around moaning and groaning about it rather that doing something about it means you're not confused?

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight!

Re: Why is it easy for Caucasians in small towns and cities to succeed without degree

Y'all aren't talking about anything.

To this point, not a single one of you has definitively shown that whites without degrees are more successful than Blacks with degrees.

It's just another opportunity for y'all to "point out racism" as was said in another thread.

If you go back and read every post in this thread, you will see several examples given, but for whatever reason(s), you choose to overlook and ignore them.

None of those "examples" show that uneducated whites are more successful than educated Blacks. None of them.

You guys have some serious difficulty with reasoning.

No more than sitting around and being quiet while folks are kicking you square in your azz just because you are Black.

Why do you compare pointing out blatant racism to moaning and groaning? By your way of thinking, the Black people who saw the White men that abducted Emmitt Till and remained quiet about it did the right thing, since they didn't moan and groan by running off by the mouth.

Once again, you've misinterpreted what I've said.

I've never advocated being quiet or ignoring injustice.

"... rather than doing something about it ...."

Did you totally miss that? Or is it willful ignorance on your part?

Only in your mind, which is your subjective opinion.

Then why are you on here shooting down institutional racism that others have experienced, such as institutional racism that is applied when qualifying for a loan.

Nope. Not my opinion.

Show me the average net worth of uneducated whites in America. Next, show me the net worth of educated Blacks. None of you have done that. All y'all have done is thrown up random "examples" of what you think is racism.

And ... if you can show me those figures ... I'm willing to bet my original premise will stand. The difference between those figures will not be insurmountable. It will be something that we can all overcome no matter what the racists think or do.

Again, I never said there was no institutional racism. Never said people didn't experience racism when applying for loans.

My thing is what do we do about it? What's the next step when you encounter racism? What needs to be done to be successful in spite of racism?

Read. Comprehend. Reason.

I don't think he is a bad person, but he simply doesn't know any better. He just can't connect the dots for whatever reason (and it can be multiple). You will not be able to help him on a message board..........Wasted Energy. :emlaugh:

IMO, you left out two things that are very important, which is "identify" and "take actions".

As are your "examples" of racism which don't prove that uneducated whites are more successful than educated Blacks.

I've told you how you can show and compare the two.

I know why y'all don't want to see actual numbers. Because seeing the numbers would make you have to admit that Blacks can have the same standard of living. And it'll take away from the collective joy y'all get from yelling "that's racist".

Man, please.

None of you clowns are talking about taking any action.

Y'all just get smug when you're able to point out something that's racist. That is an accomplishment in itself to you guys. And that's as far as it goes with y'all.

I'm always amused at how you guys band together protecting your view of the world.

Refusing to even consider an idea that you're not used to.

I know that's normal, but it's sad to see among a group of so-called educated men.

Re: Why is it easy for Caucasians in small towns and cities to succeed without degree

Everyday White Americans wake up with the question. President Obama where are the Jobs? White Americans wake up and just like in the past they relied on the Government providing them with jobs. And they accuse us as takers. Government take care of the makers and social programs take care of blacks.

Re: Why is it easy for Caucasians in small towns and cities to succeed without degree

I guess but I look at some of my white friends that haven't touched a college campus that seem to have a nice big houses, nice cars etc but the people that have degrees that are black are struggling. I guess they have to move somewhere to succeed.

I got to this topic late but look at it this way. Take out a good look of any US currency and you will see there ancestors faces and history on it. Bob doesn't have to finish college because his uncle owns a company. If his uncle doesn't own a company his daddy probably knows someone who does. Mostly every job in America has a white face at the helm. Until we start investing, owning and giving back for real it will continue to be that way. Believe it or not it has a trickle down effect on a lot of things like stress and violence. Some of us over here in the Americas are still slaves unfortunately :(

Since us poor dumb Black folks don't know what true racism is and just like to hear ourselves moan and groan, can you give us examples of true current day racism?

JAG89, I want to apologize to you and the other guys for talking to you in such a dismissive manner. I can imagine you feel the disdain and contempt pouring from my posts.

We all know what racism is. My contention was not about what is "true racism" (as if there can be any other kind of racism). I'm simply suggesting that we approach the challenges of life from a different perspective. Rather than focusing on how we've been wronged, let's focus on ways to defeat and overcome the wrong in order to achieve success anyway. In no way would I ever suggest that we haven't been wronged, there is no wrong or that we ignore wrongs. I just think we should be solution-oriented rather than complaint-oriented.

That's all.

Re: Why is it easy for Caucasians in small towns and cities to succeed without degree

Both sides have points.

When I look at my hometown, whites do have a monopoly on the few good jobs and companies in the area but like Jagfan stated, they are a small minority. Most of the people I went to school with that stayed home and never got an education are working low wage jobs.
