Alcorn looking for Aug 30, 2014 game

Its amazing that a MS State can play a JSU and Ohio State plays FAMU then its ok in the eyes of Black folks, however when the black folks do it then its all wrong, we are our own worst enemy.

No, when your conference members see you have a team that can compete against OOC FCS HBCUs, you take that mantle with pride and honor and play the best of the best, not hide like a little punk.

If my balls and stick are bigger, why should I hide it? Become the Alpha-Dog in a room full of pit bulls.

I would have to say that JSU alum are the best at twisting a comment. I believe you know exactly what I'm saying. Believe me MS State playing JSU the outcome would be basically the same as Alcorn playing a D2 or NAIA opponent. Not a close game.

I don't believe you based on recent history. NCCU over su; Delta State over Valley; Tuskegee over Bama State.
When was the last time a SWAC school defeated an FBS school? A long time ago.
On the other hand, when was the last time a D-2 school defeated a SWAC school? At least within the last year or two.

That bolded statement is why I can't and have no desire to be in that War Party Room. Mentality...:smh:.

Is it because u can't get in???? Sorry, but no need for back seat drivers.....Alcorn's schedule will be just fine..sholl is a lot worried about our business.......

Since AAMU is playing in the SWAC MEAC Challenge, why don't Alcorn and Grambling play opening weekend in Grambling, that would free up Alcorn schedule to play a D2 or NAIA school for homecoming or something

Most years, you only gonna have those two. So basically, the only 1-AA teams Alcorn will ever play are the 9 SWAC teams. Oooooooooooooook. I don't know how I would feel about that as an alum.

If it's an 11 game schedule then that's good. If it's a 12 game schedule then we have to find another opponent. You act like jsu is playing a great ooc. Y'all just played Concordia a couple of years ago. Since then jsu has played 1 fcs school and tsu. TSU saves your schedule every year and I know some jsu alums that want out of that game.

This whole thread is comical!!!! SWAC schedules are SLAW PERIOD!! If Alcorn has a weak schedule, but Alcorn beat your school this past season, what does that say about the quality of your team? We beat a couple of SWAC teams THOROUGHLY I might add...... I agree with a previous post, it is okay for MSU or USM to play down a division but when we do it, it is a problem? GTFOH

A strong or weak schedule has no merit on whether or not you are a good team in the SWAC...but a FCS school should not be playing NAIA schools like Edward Waters...

So if that logic applies, should FBS play FCS?

FBS/FCS is more competitive considering both are Division 1 programs its jus some are considerably better...FCS programs have played and beat FBS teams....Using my logic FCS teams should only drop down one level for easy opponents and thats Division 2 teams...

FBS
FCS
D2
D3
NAIA
JUCO

That is the order for college athletics!

I agree except I'd put NAIA over D3 because the NAIA does offer scholarships. And less restrictions means they can get athletes no one else can touch. Those old Central State teams from the 80s and early 90s were NAIA.

NAIA is dropping down two divisions...

LOL at Alcorn folks trying to justify playing not one, but TWO NAIA schools in the same year. That is sooooo sad.

Quick name the SWAC schools that have played Concordia in the last few years..........

Save it...You can say 4 or 5 schools off top doesnt make it right...I know personally JSU doesnt like those games and have openly said it...but if you guys see no problem with it then ok... we will just laugh at your mistakes..

Tell me War Party Room (or Alcornites West of I-55)... Why are we so scared to play OOC FCS HBCUs? What is so scary about FAMU, TN State, etc.? What is wrong with a home and away deal?

We hiding like some punks.

Why should I as an alumni promote my school at HBCU functions when the school doesn't want to even promote itself?

This thread is the truth. We have a team that can compete. Why not showcase it outside the SWAC to the rest of the FCS HBCU World? Valley played SC State not long ago. They played FAMU last year.
