These clowns in here worried. We know Mumford is old and decrepit. It's not up to modern standards
So we understand why they're so concerned that we get this right.
Impatient assess.

Once those questions have been answered, we will be ready to break ground. Obviously we're still working our way through this.

I think most of us understand that. That was for SUJagFan since it appears he knows more about the "faulty" information than Meyers, and those who prepared the model.

Can someone please answer Clarkdale's questions?

:retard:

Are you serious? Y'all act like this dude asked some tough questions.

First of all, let me get something straight about these "14 possible funding streams" as they are called on the site. Some of you appear to think that JSU has 14 different ways to pay for the construction of the stadium. That is NOT the case. That is not what they are saying at all.

Currently, there are 14 possible funding streams of various dollar amounts. They include personal seat licenses, box rentals, state of Mississippi contributions, city of Jackson TIF funding, Hinds County support, student fees, New Market Tax Credits, other tax credits, federal assistance, concession and beverage rights, naming rights, amusement taxes and stadium entrance fee taxes. Along with these funding streams, additional options are being explored.

All they are saying is that they've identified several possible ways of generating funds or some financial benefit for the stadium before and after it is built.

As far as the proportions of each goes, nobody knows. Nobody. Who knows for sure that the State of Mississippi will contribute anything to this stadium? I've already shown that the estimated number of students is farfetched, so the amount they've estimated for student fees is probably farfetched too. Who knows how many actual students JSU will have at that time? Who knows how much food and beverages will be sold? Box rentals, personal seat licenses, taxes, tax credits ... as I said in my other posts ... all of those numbers presented to Carolyn Meyers or anybody else are based upon assumptions that may or may not be accurate or realistic.

Come on, guys. I don't believe y'all are really this slow.

I can smell the hatred through the comments.... just say congrats and move on, no need to show that southernese algebra. I am anxious for us to make moves and I am glad we are doing this the right way. Shout out to everyone clowning us about the "mythical" dome that we will be getting, and a BIG shout out to everyone who said we would be 0-5 by october. :lmao: Anyway, I want to see these revenue streams and some action within the next 2 years.

All WE are saying is why do you care?

Any of you all who think 15K is an unattainable in enrollment for JSU in the near future obviously have no clue as to what's happening on Lynch Street. That is not just a pie-in-the-sky number. There are many more moving parts to this than just a domed stadium.

So basically what I'm saying is that yall don't know WTH you're talking about.

Serious question: What does "in the near future" mean? "n a few years". What does that mean? Five years or less?

Southern is on the decline while JSU is growing.
We just opened up our Madison campus and attendance is increasing there by the hour.
We're about to open up the downtown campus in January.
We're on the move. Looking at our blue & gold haters in the rear view.
Just laugh at them at them keep moving lol
To think they hired Mason so that he could do for them what he did for JSU :lmao:
Yes, those exact words were said by SU's administration

How's that going for you Su?

Are you familiar with projection and trend analyses? If you aren't, then that explains your comments.

JSU's enrollment has been growing, and is expected to continue to grow. We're literally turning students away because we don't have enough housing. If you see that space between the campus and the dome on that photo, that is the site of new dorms...dorms that have been approved and monies allocated to start building.

You still don't understand the use of federal assistance, and why it is even pertinent in this discussion. There is a reason behind it. There is a reason that the city of Jackson is on board, and so is Hinds County. This is much bigger than JSU, which VOR tried to tell you. All you are spewing is conjecture.

And how does your statement "All they are saying is that they've identified several possible ways of generating funds or some financial benefit for the stadium before and after it is built" differs from them saying they have 14 possible funding streams? Are you saying that the New Market Tax Credits, and other support will be recorded as financial benefit as a result of the stadium or if it goes toward construction? Because tax credits are definitely not a "financial benefit for the stadium" nor is it a fund generator. As for the others that will actually generate funds, do you not think that some of that is allocated toward debt repayment?

I figured you would come back with some foolishness like this, so I went back to check JSU's enrollment growth over the past few years, calculated a growth rate (because I do know how to do that) and a estimated number of students in five years. It doesn't come close to 15,000 students. Mr. Projection and Trend Analysis.

I also saw an article about a new dorm. The dorm will at 600 - 800 beds. Not 6000. Want me to link the article? You know I don't have to because you know it's true.

I can't help but shake my head at this mind-numbing ignorance. That the city, county and state will benefit from the stadium is no secret knowledge that you all hold. It's not hard to realize that's true and to see why they would be interested in contributing. I never said the feds, county or city wouldn't be willing to help. The only entity that I suggested may offer some resistance is the state. You have to admit that's true.

My statement about funding streams was made simply to clarify that there were not 14 funding streams available to BUILD the stadium as some of your people seem to believe. Some of those will be available before and during construction. Some afterwards.

There's no need for me to argue whether a tax credit is beneficial or not. I never said it generated cash, but it's laughable that you think it's not a financial benefit.

:)

Jagfan, 15k is a tough hike but is doable once a few more upgrades are completed. I also believe a significant portion of that growth will be online students. I want us to hit 10k though by next year. we can do it if we want. Not sure there is a will there yet.

Are you jealous? Because every other school has said congrats (whether it is fake or not) and moved on, but you are like the only su fan who is at work molesting your calculator to prove WHAT??? All this adding and subtracting, looking up jsu info and using the southernese math that you all love to use does nothing!!! This really bothers you huh?

You guys are really going back and forth with these folks. LOL

All the hate and jealousy is not called for...once again our thread is ruined because people want to start petty little arguments over something jsu related! As soon as I saw greg post the link, I knew it was a wrap!!! I knew somebody was going to say something negative for NO reason. But it is all good.

15K is very tough. Even at a 10% growth rate it would take close to 10 years to get there.

I'd love to see it done though. I'd love every SWAC school to get to 10K+ quality students.

Six thousand students is 66% of your current enrollment. It would be tough for any school to quickly grow that much.

Mississippi State has the largest on campus student body in that state with around 20,000 students. That's like them saying they are going to add another 13, 000 students "in the next few years". I'm sure most JSU peeps would laugh at that. MSU already has online classes. The ability to get full degrees online. MBAs. If you look at their enrollment to see how it changed since they began to offer online classes, I doubt it's remotely close to 66% growth. :noidea:

Is 15,000 possible for JSU in the long run? Definitely. No doubt about it. Quickly? I'm not so sure.

You do realize using your way of figuring enrollment SU already has over 10k students and Dr. Mason is over more student at SU then he was at jSU.
