Serious question...Has anyone looked at the annual rate of return on that $75 million the state will fork over?
It's called "Economic Impact". That's all on the website, if you care to stop hatin' for a moment and look at it! :lol:
Rate of return is a term reserved for private investments, not government funding. Stadiums, arenas and convention centers don't make a whole lot of money. It's the local businesses that it stimulates and creates that make them worth building. Hence, economic impact.
Since you seem to think rate of return doesn't apply to government, I'll tell you what it is. The State of Mississippi is expected to receive a total of $14 million over a 20 year period, providing that jSU can generate enough revenue. Based on those figures, the annual rate of return is like 1.76%, which is probably the lowest rate of return for any situation. But I was just asking a serious question.

Why do people make empty statements like this? I know that this is a sports board filled with opinions but you have no clue who works for the University or who is apart the alumni circle and who is in the know...I can honestly say that...you dont know what he or anyone else knows....
What is the rate of return on that $18 million plus fieldhouse and expansion ya'll did to Mumford.
Is Bobby J screaming for the state of Louisiana's money back yet after all these years? Did rate of return even come up when getting financing and bonds issued for this project? Give me the hard numbers on what SU is paying back yearly on that Football Stadium Construction. :smh:
SU did a bond issue for 60 plus million. If I'm not mistaken, the state didn't have jack to to with it. SU used outside sources.What is the rate of return on that $18 million plus fieldhouse and expansion ya'll did to Mumford.

:banghead::argue2::noidea::smh:
I make statements like that because they are true.
Carolyn Meyers doesn't know how the numbers were derived or if they are valid. Someone made a presentation and she either believes them or she doesn't. AD Lick Lick Monster doesn't know. Nor does that VOR assclown who acts like he knows all things JSU. I don't care what his affiliation is with the university. It's very obvious that he was not the person or among the people who actually compiled the financial information and made the projections. Very obvious. Therefore, he's relying on what somebody else told him and what he can comprehend. Which is ... less than impressive to me.

Why are folks hating on JSU? For them to even attempt something like this is good for the SWAC. Maybe they could share their ideas with other SWAC schools to step their game up.
:banghead::argue2::noidea::smh:
I heard that there was a talk with the usual MEAC/SWAC suspects of a Super HBCU 8 Conference to go to FBS, but 4 schools voted against that idea...dont know how true that is but we will see!
