Louisiana Votes To Split HS Football Playofffs

I am not saying that those schools don't have excllent athletes. But they don't have the discipline and coaching that ND have and neither of those schools have ever been on ND level as a rule of thumb. Those cajuns at ND aren't dumb either. They don't fool with schools like Barbe and Acadiana. Now a school like JC or EC will because they will play anybody anywhere but ND will not. That is why I state and I know there is a radical difference in recruiting and mind set.
So all of us who still live here are wrong and the Georgia resident is right  . Man them folks recruit. I will find the post Saturday night after I come back from watching my Jags on the reservation.

But they don't have the discipline and coaching that ND have and neither of those schools have ever been on ND level as a rule of thumb. Those cajuns at ND aren't dumb either. They don't fool with schools like Barbe and Acadiana that is right in their backyard. Now a school like JC or EC will because they will play anybody anywhere but ND will not. That is why I state and I know there is a radical difference in recruiting and mind set.

So it's fair to compare a private school who recruits to a school that plays with homegrown talent.

Yea, I'm right because I'm smarter and more knowledgeable about these things. :emlaugh: Again, I never said that they don't recruit just not 50 miles away. :emlaugh:

I don't think I ever said that. I never said I disagree with the split either. :emlaugh: But it is fair to say that the two schools that make up EF don't have the football pedigree that ND has regardless of the handicap.

Yet, he's already running for President and wants to be the new face of "The Stupid Party".

I hope he gets the same slap of reality that barbour got when he decided to run.

What kind of crazy ish going on down there with that type of system? That's why I don't trust these people here in MS pushing for the charter systems (the white politicians behind it and the black puppets they are using as the faces for the charter schools push)

Jrock, the point is they can and do recuit, and do so over a much, much wider area than public school that is zoned, as opposed to a public school that is zoned and has to play with whatever walks up. If a private school is short on linemen, the coach can canvass the area and try to talk some big kids into coming, he has a chance, that small town public school has no alternative. He just has to play with what he has. Your point about JC and Evangel is true, but about as relevant to this conversation as whether they pick their bugars with there left hand or right hand.

If ND and EF where on an even playing field, then EF coach would have the opportunity to get them some of the better players from Northeast, West Feliciana, Greensburg, and maybe Zachary to add to his team and make up for deficiencies . Again, the fact that ND aint as good at recruiting is another issue.

I think it should be illegal for high schools to recruit.

I know a guy from Haynesville that was recruited by Ruston High. His mom is a RN and his dad is cop. Man they were going to get him mom a job at the hospital in Ruston and the dad was going to get transferred to Ruston Police Department with an increase in rank. All the black folks were quieter than a shit house rat because the kid was black and could ball. :emlaugh:

Well the kid could ball and his dad got on with the State Police and mom become the Director of Nurses at a hospital in Alaxandria.

Get out of here with that stupid ass booger analysis. It is what it is and their is no "If" in facts. You haven't pointed out anything thing redeeming about the public vs private situation that I don't know.

You are right, no If in facts, and the fact is they recuit and get players over a much wider area that a public school. The Fact is it not that relevant that John Curtis is much better at recuiting than Notre Dame. Whats probably more relevant is to Notre Dame, winning aint so important that they will field a team of brothers, where John Curtis don't care who you are if you will help them win.

I don't hate ND because they they have a white catholic parish that plays white players. What I like is high school football. And, I call it like I see it. I certainly don't pull for them but know the program well. You keep on posting stuff like it is a news flash that is pretty common knowledge to anyone that knows LA high school football and in some instances football in general.

I am not hating at all, its all good. You are right, most understand, that's why I addressed it to those who posted like they didn't.
Notre Dame is the the City of Crowley. It is about 67% white and 30% Black, which is about the same racial breakdown as the entire State ( La is about 33% Black). Whats the distance between ND and Crowley High School?

BTW, you never answered, left handed or right handed?

Last question first. Right hand middle finger for your eyes to see. The color of players has nothing to do with ND football prowess who I have had the pleasure of witnessing for well over 30 years. Now I'm pretty sure that I don't agree with the majority of their parents politics but that don't have anything to do with football and the brand they play. For that matter, I can't stand what a bunch of LSU supporters and fans represent but I like LSU football. I can separate the two unlike some others. That's like saying, I can't compliment Boston when they had Dave Cowens, John Havilachek etc. because they are predominately white and forget about the brand of ball they play. I don't roll that way. I said before the EF game that ND was going to kick their ass not because they were predominately white but because they had the better football team and know the history. When I think of Peabody or White Castle, I certainly don't think of football. :emlaugh: Basketball yes, football, hell no. Sunday mornings are some of the most segregated hours not only in Louisiana but in America. Notre Dame represents a Catholic School in predominately white Catholic parishes (98% white) that is not recruiting to represent Louisiana, Crowley or Acadia Parish (state parish which is different from a Catholic parish) racial demographics. John Curtis first and last football coach name is John Curtis which is the school's name. ND and JC don't have the same agenda which isn't a news flash. What's the distance between members of the Lafayette Diocese St, Michael, St. Joseph, and St. Francis parish and the parish seat of Acadia Parish?

If the LHSAA membership were to fully split between public and private schools, the private schools, as a whole, would have a harder time with their own separate group when it comes to hosting championships, insurance costs, paying officials and other infrastructure costs.

Also, how will private schools in the event of a full breakaway, ensure they follow federal laws (Title IX, Americans with Disabilities Act, etc.) when it comes to their student-athletes?

The larger, older predominately Catholic schools throughout the state would probably fare better in terms of absorbing costs than other private schools.

For the record EF IMO had the better team. The best team don't always win. It was televised and everyone who say the game thought EF should have won.

lol............. EF may have had better athletes but they didn't have the best team or coaching, otherwise the results would have been different. You have the proclivity to make excuses for teams you pull for. An example is making excuses for S.U. getting our ass kicked last night. Sometimes you have to move on and accept defeat and it is no one elses blame....Not the refs, the temperature, the direction of the wind etc.

I was at both games we were referring to, you weren't.

Or they get "scholarships"......wink wink

well that's different... with a voucher program that's an entirely different ballgame... We don't have a state voucher program.... so most kids who go to private schools here have the money to pay for private schools.

The voucher system takes care of that.

The voucher system takes care of that.

Actually the voucher DOES NOT take care of additional costs for extracurricular activities. Voucher funds are basically MFP funds, which is what the state determines to educate a student — and operate a school. Plus, there won't be that many voucher kids to offset rising insurance costs for extracurricular activities, plus now U.S. Education Department is going to start pushing equal access for special-needs students in athletics.

Are there limits on tuition costs for schools in the voucher program? If not, you don't think that schools will take advantage of that by raising tuition costs to indirectly cover athletic expenses? This is Louisiana we're talking about here.

As the voucher system currently dictates, a private school would only get the MFP money for the child at the same amount the public school kid gets. Nobody's really talking about charter schools, which gets more in MFP per child than regular public schools.

They just can't exceed the cost of how much MFP funds a school district gets for each student. So if EBR gets $8,500 per student, you wouldn't go over that amount for your tuition. Now the voucher funds won't cover the other fees associated with the private school.

First, I agree that ND was better coached and had more disciple and that was a key to them winning, They are real good at winning like that. Their style evens out some of the athletic differences. I also agree with your statement "The color of players has nothing to do with ND football prowess".

But your statement about the parish being 98% white is just WRONG, I repeat WRONG. Acadia Parish is 67% white and 33% black, which is the same at the entire state. They have black athletes available, but they ain't trying to get them.

Now let me elaborate on the point. First John Curtis is recruiting the elite black athlete, which in itself requires work and money, and then they are recruiting against other white Catholic schools in New Orleans that have money also (like Rummel, Brother Martin, Shaw. etc) in addition to the public schools, but they can get kids from all over New Orleans. Now lets take Clinton, it is actually 40% white, but where are the white kids in Clinton?, at Sillman Institute (about 0.2 miles from Clinton High School), You may have never heard of Sillman, because they don't even play in the LHSAA, they play in the MAIS (Mississippi Association of Independent Schools). Most of those white private schools in that area of the state won't play black schools or even be in an association with them. They would rather go to Mississippi and play. But the point is they are not zoned and can get kids from all over, just like ND does, and just like John Curtis does, but they don't have to spend the money/effort John Curtis does. And Sillman being almost all white has nothing to do with Clinton be all white (which it aint) no more that ND of Crowley being almost all white when Crowley IS NOT almost all white.

But I agree, they (ND) keeps a damn good, well disciplined team that wins. And unless EF steps its game up more, EF will have the better athletes and ND will probably kick they azz again this year, and some will be crying about a call here or there, or the refs or whatever.

Finally, a question, if you pick your nose with your own middle finger, won't you be flipping yourself the bird? Just asking??? LOL!!!!
