Must be a down year in the SEC

Being honest is too bad?:noidea:

Being honest about what Jayrob? The Big Ten APR being number 1? That the black kids in the South have decided to stay close to home in the SEC now that they are seemingly welcome at these schools? That we know Big Ten alums or trained coaches seem to have run the SEC. Outside of Spurrier who won titles at Florida. It took Saban, Miles, and Meyer to make the SEC dominant. We see what just happened to Chizik, so I ain't going to count him. He won because of Cam. LOL. Even Arkansas hired a Big Ten coach to right the ship.

Get back with me on the truth as you know it bruh. Ain't no secret that the football talent is in the warm weather states. Only PA, Ohio and NJ have had quality HS football in their states. The rest are suspect. But one other truth is that the Big Ten student athletes do seem to fair better after playing ball. Now you can carry on. Hell your own Michigan State product Magic Johnson is a prime example.

JR come on man. Alabama won inspite of McElroy. As a matter of fact, he almost lost the game a couple of times. And being chosen over Tebow ain't saying much at all. The Jets just have a stupid GM, that's why he was fired. Need I say more?

Didn't Alabama lose because McCarron threw that pick at the end zone? Every QB whether great or bad will have a couple of bad games. McElroy was good at what he did. He threw the ball accurately and he managed the game like he was told. You can't hate on that kid. Dude even beat Tebow head to head. Alabama doesn't ask their QBs to win games on a regular. It is not how they are built. You obviously don't watch them play enough.

BTW,
Look how average McElroy was his Sr season. Dude was 4th in the nation in pass efficiency. Also look at his TD to INT ratio the two years he started. But yet they won in spite of him. LOL. Dude just was not flashy. But he got the job done.

DAMN THE SEC!

LOL. I almost forgot Rivers was there. I didn't know he was that bad. But I think I remember you saying he wasn't all that during the recruitment of him. He must not be if he can't even get on the field the way Mettenberger has played at times. LSU screwed up when they pissed off Bridgewater and his Mom during the recruitment process. That QB from Indiana that ended up at ND should have kept his commitment to LSU. At this rate he will never see the field at ND if Golson keeps playing well enough.

Actually D'Hill Rivers is not that bad I noticed him during LSU spring game and thought him to be more athletic than Mett and at the beginning of the season I was hoping Les would allow him more time undercenter but Les is who he is and that is loyal to his athletes you all know that and that is what I fear for this team next year if Mett don't get his stuff together...in my eyes from last spring he reminded me of Drew Bledsoe when his play is busted he will stand there waiting to be tackled not much of a scambler and dammit I like my QB's scambling..at least Rivers has that in him...Yes the defense is always full for they had a quite a few freshmen playing and starting this year as was the case with their OL that was plaqued with injuries early on but I give credit to the freshman OL's that had to step up and I think they will get better next year in holding their own...LSU can be alright for next year but it will take extra effort from coaches down to the athletes the talent is already there!

All you mentioned is well and good. If the Big Ten is so hot, why are their coaches migrating to the SEC? I'll tell you why.
You have folks who are diehard fans who love their football and are willing to payout big bucks to get a winning program on the field. Why hate on that? I may not like the history of many schools in the SEC, but I can respect the fact that they're willing to do what it takes to get a decent product on the field, which includes buying out coaches in two years or less if they're not winning. LOL!!
Ohio State does it too, as does Michigan, but those are basically the only two Big Ten schools willing to dish out cash for quality coaches.
Wisconsin makes much money from sports, but doesn't want to dish out money to keep it's head coach or hire a quality one.
What is there to respect about that?

It's not hard to have a high pass efficiency when you're throwing five yard out passes. Keep trying to put lipstick on that pig if it makes you feel good.
McElroy is nowhere near being an NFL QB. That's why Ryan sat him down after one game and put Sanchez back in the starting spot. LOL!!
If he couldn't beat out Sanchez, he can't be that good.

Like I said, Alabama won inspite of McElroy. The stupid Jets GM got fooled by the name Alabama, instead of looking at McElroy for his individual talents or lack thereof and he paid the price by getting fired.

If Saban had run the ball instead of pass 3 straight downs AJ would have never been in the position to throw a pick on 4th down. You can easily say Bama lost because TJ Yelding fumbled the ball on the go ahead touchdown late in the game.

McElroy had a concussion and wasn't cleared to play... he wasn't benched.

LSU defense may get ravaged by the NFL draft. All American Kevin Minter (teams MVP) has annouced his intentions to go pro. Mingo and Sam Montgomery may be headed that way also (the book ends are currently considering it). Eric Reid, the teams best DB supposed to be conveying his intentions today one way or the other regarding the draft. If they lose those 4 that could be a serious loss of top 10 equity for 2013. We'll see. That ball controll offense should be intact though.

BATON ROUGE - LSU safety Eric Reid will forgo his final season of eligibility and will make himself available for the 2013 NFL Draft, the junior announced on Friday.
Reid, a first-team All-America selection in 2012, joins linebacker Kevin Minter as LSU's early NFL entries thus far.

In three years with the Tigers, Reid played on teams that won 10 or more games all three years, including last year's 13-1 squad that captured the Southeastern Conference title and reached the BCS National Championship Game. Reid's three-year record at LSU was 34-6.

"I've been very fortunate and blessed to have been able to play football at LSU," Reid said. "It was always my dream to go to LSU and play football.

Rivers is horrible... he was in the same region as my high school... Just so happened he played for his dad and he was the brother of an NFL quarterback. My cousin is a huge LSU fan who gives money and follows recruiting. I told him that Rivers would never be a starting qb at LSU back when he originally signed. He was arrogant and use to get flagged numerous times for talkin ish to the opponents coaches and players on sideline... all while having an average season and barely a winning record. He was more known for running than passing. LIke I said earlier he should have stuck with basketball.... he was a much better basketball player in high school.

Players improve and grow. Surely your potential wasn't terminated after high school. :emlaugh: Anywho, LSU has two high profile QB's coming in next year. Like DCG said though, Les can be loyal to those upper class-men students so we will have to see how it works out.

Alabama and Auburn felt the same way when his brother (Phillip) came out of high school. Neither recruited Rivers because of his delivery.

McElroy was drafted late, so it isn't like the Jets broke the bank to get him. He was drafted to be a project Qb.

But the more telling story is how all of those Big Ten coaches come to the SEC with Meyer being the exception and doing the opposite. lol

The SEC pays more and those cats know the black kids are staying in the South more now. Ain't like it used to be when those schools didn't want us that much and you could get a lot of those kids to head to the North. Plus back then, folks had plenty of relatives up North. Now folks are moving away after those jobs dried up.

JR you're still over here with a flashlight trying to find out whether the chicken or egg came first and reasons why the SEC hasn't taken over the college football on planet earth? Since you're in the space city, you may need to mosey on down to NASA and ask them for a ride to another galaxy to find a better football conference because it sure as hell isn't in this one. :emlaugh:

I hear that Jerrard Randall is really the better QB but they're not playing him for some reason.

that may be true but I didn't see or notice him back at the Spring Game but I will venture to guess that his size has something to do with him not been in the top three (6-1 186)...Mett 6-5, Rivers 6-8, Bolden 6-4...Randall needs to start working on another position or transfer if he intends not to sit on the bench his entire college career.

In the game formerly known as the Peach Bowl, a couple of things stay in my mind. LSU, which had control of the game, choked. Clemson, which had their quarterback and receivers get hit all game long, hung tough and fought. It was LSU's game to win, but Clemson did not quit.

Thank you for your insight so on point...I was still sitting here 5 days later trying to figure out what went wrong!

I agree with this blog. LSU will need help on offense. It is interesting that there was a debate between Zach Mettenberger and Aaron Murray at Georgia.

I have been out of town for most of the week but will try to add insight sooner than I did this time.

It was not hard to see what happened to the purple and gold Tigers. It was their game to win. The defense tagged and battered Tajh Boyd all game long, but he showed how tough he was. He can be my quarterback anytime.

If Les has too many more games like he did in Atlanta, the LSU fans will put a for sale sign in his yard. Understand. LSU fans are not always the most rational fans. I am a former Baton Rouge resident and like the SU Jags and GSU Tigers know how their fans can be. Their fan base is considered different from other SEC fan bases.

I don't find the LSU Fan base anymore obniouxs than the Alabama fan base or for that matter the Southern U and Jackson St fans who are not the most rational fans!

Congratulations to Ole Miss kicked some butt today...I got my good eye on ya'll!
Them arse clowns are okay. But you better tell Les to watch out. They ain't no threat to Nick Saban. He can play his backups and still kill Old Piss. They will only beat SEC teams who are sad or choke against them next season.
