According to Doug: DJ will start against Jackson State Saturday!

That's it! You're on to something Founder...

Doug is TRYING to get fired/contract bought out. :read:

In the process get his son a free education being that the APR if read with an understanding is supportive of athletes that are progressive toward their degree and not in any trouble.:read:

Let me hush because folks don't see things until it happens.

Don't ya'll end up paying for 4 coaches at the same time.
Spears, Broadway, Doug, and the coach that will take over.

They don't owe Broadway any money. LOL. He left on his own well almost on his own. He got tired of not being appreciated. He is now the HC at NC A&T. They are 4-4 after he took over a winless team I believe last year.

Doug has won 4 championships in his previous 7 years of coaching. The problem with the minority Grambling fan base is they jump off the bandwagon the moment adversity appears. Then there are a few that just don't like him for personal reasons or experiences. :emlaugh:

Nah JRock. I have to agree with the GSU folks this time. Doug won last years title on smoke and mirrors. Now the previous ones were legit.

Man, I blame your school and UAPB for making it happen too. If UAPB has a full squad to field against Grambling last year, we don't win that game.

LOL. Stump was just making sure Doug don't try to apply at SU no damn more. I need yall to get him together. Tell him all that losing and turmoil up in N. La ain't going to help his cause to land the SU job in December. I am sure he is plotting a way to just let Big Worm run up the score in the BC so yall will fire him. LOL

We'll have to agree to disagree. Grambling folks are the most ungrateful bunch in the SWAC. Look how they even tried to jack old boy for his paper. :emlaugh: It's bad enough Doug had to do battle with those folks in Tampa Bay and then leave because Mr. Charlie didn't think he was intelligent enough to get paid as a real NFL QB. Now in the age that we have a black man sitting in the white house, he has to come home to black folks calling him ignorant after he took a declining program under the elderly Eddie Robinson and made it significant again. Then when one examines this Broadway hypocrisy, I am reminded of how strangers sometimes treat you better than family. :emlaugh: This one year removed from a championship what have you done for me lately crowd is for the birds and it must stop. Doug is no ones slave to be treated like this. He should be evaluated at the end of his contract. I am surprised that you would endorse the ungrateful bandwagon fans but we are not a monolithic people so it is understandable. :emlaugh:

LOL @ Jrock. You do have a point about them being ungrateful. But let's examine this even more carefully. Doug left a good Grambling job to go back to the place (Tampa) that treated him like a slave after he got pissy with his alma mater. Basically left them with no choice but to hire his cousin Spears who we saw how that turned out. LOL. Then after Tampa turned their nose up at him once again, he tries to partake in a coup with TC at SU to get our job. Once that fails, he sets the plot in motion to get his Gram job back along with the GSU contingent that hated on Broadway because he didn't win pretty nor did he kiss their N. La arses. (Well at least the girls err women were safe. LOL). This is where we agree on the ungrateful part. Because some of the same folks who sent poor Broadway nasty emails and telling dude to go back to NC and all, probably are now wishing he was back after this 1-7 start. LOL. So you are right. It is hypocritical that Gram folks want to oust Doug when they had a coach that all he did was win. Well not all the Gram alums wanted Doug back and those folks got slammed on TSPN because they didn't support him coming back. Now that the chickens are coming back to roost, I bet those who slammed them good GSU alums for their opposition are probably like damn they were right. LOL.

So we do agree on some of this. But I see you working JRock. You want Doug to stay his arse at Gram and away from our beloved SU. So in that case, how dare those GSU folks talk about Doug. He is the greatest coach since Coach Robinson graced us with his presence in the SWAC. ~snicker~

no they have not ....be realistic

Realistic how GR? Doug can't recruit like he did before APR. He can't sign 40 players and hope 15-20 of them show up eligible at some point. Now he got to coach. Now he got to take a SMART kid and coach him up. Things are different than they were when he was last coaching Gram. Broadway talent may have not been great in your book. But he could coach up the kids to play in his system. He reminded me of Pete when he first came to SU. Not a big talker and not a guy who is going to sit in living rooms and recruit a bunch of athletes. But is good enough to take solid players who understand what to do and play disciplined ball. Hell that is half the battle in the SWAC. A disciplined team with decent talent can win in this conference. Broadway was that type of coach. But the way he won was boring to a lot of folks and he didn't have that superstar play maker on offense so to speak. Doug ain't going to be able to get those either not the way he used to. Kids don't give a flip if he played in a SB in the 80s. Hell some of their parents were little kids then and barely remember. No more over signing. No more chances on props. He got to coach now GR. Really coach.

Years later he went right back to Mr. Charlie, where Mr. Charlie gave him a job...paying him to be a scout. Things eventually didn't work out. And when Mr. Charlie had to let him go, Doug talked about Mr. Charlie's fraternity, "the good ole boy fraternity". A person who is "capable" of being employed elsewhere in the NFL doesn't make public comments like that.

Talk about ungrateful...

Grambling was at fault for not giving Doug menial things to keep their facilities up to par. I do not fault him for leaving and giving them enough time to get it together. Grambling was not obligated to hire Spears. It was their lazy, shiftless faults if they did not conduct a national search for the best coach at that time. How dare you blame that backwoods tomfoolery on Doug. :emlaugh: Next, you are coming ups with an alleged Doug conspiracy theory aka "plot" to run Broadway out of town? It has always amazed me how folks say things to prove a point. But you JR? :emlaugh: And why would you talk about "good" and bad Gramblingnites? Have you did some type of analysis on characters or is it that you're making a distinction between your little friends and those that you disagree with? That by definition is being prejudice. :emlaugh: Why would Doug not use his political ties to assist him in inking a contract with S.U. It is what any red blooded American would do. Yes? With some of your story lines, I believe that you could right an excellent movie for the Lifetime Movie Network. I for one would watch it with popcorn in one hand and Cuevo in the other. :emlaugh:
Lastly, I don't want Doug at S.U. right now because he is the coach at Grambling and don't believe in all of that nepotism. I also believe some new blood with fresh and innovative ideas should be afforded the opportunity.
