Presidential Debate #1





Romney won this debate. He was able to communicate better tonight and Obama just seemed a bit hesitant and defensive tonight. Romney was the aggressor but it wasn't a large gap. Overall, this was boring. I will give Romney a slight nod. I think his points system was more effective. He was a salesman.
 
Neither was great. Lets get that out of the way. Romney did not make one point about how he would effectively change anything. Could someone answer for him what he said?

no one went into depth. No one said anything new. I am not voting for Romney but I think he was a better communicator tonight. The only thing I do remember really were his trade answers.
 
This man who moderated had to be the sorriest ever. Romney was aggressive because no one moderated. Romney is a fraud. Everything he was against he is for now. How is that winning? They wanted to portray Obama as the angry black man. if he had went over like Romney he would be declared angry.

Your opinion. Not knocking it but I pay attention to the facts. Talking loud and making points that catered to white males with money does not impress voters like me.

Lol @ folks letting pundits decide who "won" the debate. The story for the next week will be how Romney won this debate and closed the overall gap with Obama. The story will hold until the VP debate and then so on. Early voting has started in the important states, Romney's in trouble until he can turn Ohio around. And the bailout is not letting that happen. The only drama in this election is whether Obama wins with 280 electoral votes or 320+.
 
Mitt has changed his total tax plan, Obamacare and plan for the Department of Education. Conservatives were thrown under the bus for Romney's "back to the middle" plans that he had no real answer for.
 
Money Makin Mitt was in there throwing jabs all night. I'm proud of him. He looked human lol.

He was lying but hey it doesn't matter its a debate...Money Makin Mitt just wants to look good. Obama just let dude slide

not worried at all...this is Obama's 'Rope a Dope'. Same thing he did to Clinton.
 
Let's be honest, this was Mitt's debate to lose from the beginning. It was the economy and the economy sucks right now. Mitt hasn't had to govern so he gets to play critic. I think Obama takes the next two.

Its called Rope a Dope Cee. chill out, Romney up there doing all that lying has put himself into a box that he can't get out of. He will answer for it. This debate allowed Obama to get aggressive in the next two without looking angry blackman. He will scold Romney from here on out.
 
Got to love politics.... I was floored when Romney basically said he will let us know about his plans once he is elected. This guy doesn't have a clue.

That doesn't top Nancy Pelosi who said the American public won't know what's in Obamacare until it's passed.
 
So a "winner" is chosen by....

1) who's the aggressor
2) talks about proposals but no plans on how to reach those proposals
3) complains about the other candidates facts, but distorts his own fact

So this is the all chosen winner...Really???

This was a boring debate and unfortunately Obama was reserved, that's the word I'm using, not timid, not off his game, not prepared, just reserved. I use that word because Obama is always reserved. We've said it before when he wins his second term, then we may see a different side of him!

You can be dismissive about this if you want, but those who are not as in tuned with politics may very well look at such cosmetic factors as you presented.
 
I think in political debates, the purpose is to show why you are a better candidate than your opponent and why people should choose your vision. Yes, I believe you should attack your opponent.

I'm with you on that but, there are a lot more of them than us. Obama lost a lot of votes that he will not be able to get back. At some time tonight he should have gone on the offensive. You can't win a fight without throwing a punch.

Most of you fail to realize undecided voters are never undecided. They are folk who play the game so they won't have to discuss politics with folks who are die hard rebs or die hard dems. Folks minds are already made up and the early voting in swing states and soldiers across the globe decides this vote. There is a reason why the southern states don't play a role in the winner of any election.
 
This may be a "moral" victory for Romney but I believe that the President handed Romney a rope and allowed him to hang himself. He flip flopped on so much that Obama's campaign team will have material for weeks.
