What are the chances that SU vs. JSU becomes the "new" Capital City Classic?

While the game doesn't need any gimmicks, bells or whistles, tv revenue and any other additional revenue would be welcomed.

If there is an opportunity bring in more money from the game, I don't believe either school or the conference is in a position to turn that down.

I agree but why do we always have to get these promoters and name it some sort of classic to do that? Why can't the two sides sit down and map out a game plan beneficial to both schools and engage sponsors, TV networks, ect? Other than the Bayou Classic, Magic City Classic, Florida Classic, and maybe the Turkey Day Classic I don't see why we need any more.

The opportunity is moving the game to Jackson every year. Its just simple math. 50kx$25=1.25million
SU gets to take home 500K.
We helped you keep your doors open before and we can do it again. Plus we get to have the game in a college atomosphere and not the ghetto-ish surroundings of Scottanville.

Its time for blacks to start thinking business. We have to take advantage of easy opportunities.

One has to be some kind of stupid to think $500K can help keep the doors open at the national treasure and historical Southern University System. Hell we spent that kind of chump change taking jackson state's president away from them. :emlaugh:

Who said getting a promoter and naming it a "classic" is the only solution?

Maybe it's time for a different approach.

Ignore GR. He's just instigating. He's just BSing. And you know this, man.

The only person on here who instigates more than me.

It's hilarious too, because y'all take stuff he says seriously just like folks take the stuff I say seriously. I don't understand it ... but I be laughing my ass off.

Even if that means a possible slot on the VERSUS network? SU vs. JSU could run FAMU out of the TV Sponsorship and have the SWAC BRAND shown more than the MEAC Brand.

The AFC is not a FAMU game. That game is owned and operated by the 100 Black Men of ATL and they negotiate their television contract.

I think our schools miss out on creating the "classic" atmosphere at home games. That would include the ancillary events and additional streams of revenue.

Go sit down somewhere with that; most people knows what Rent Ready does. Do me a favor and ignore my posts (talk to someone else); you got too much drama and way off base with too many of your posts. :emlaugh:

There's really no drama with me.

Just entertaining myself. Saying whatever and seeing what happens.

Once USM figures out how to take Memorial and expand their hospital, jSU would have no choice but to schedule all their games as away games, since they wouldn't have a replacement stadium. Just call them the traveling tigers.

GR is not BSing or instigating. GR thought of moving SUs home game to Jackson long before Lafluer and Clayton ever thought about it. As a matter of fact I think they stole my decision. There is noway they thought of that themselves.

You guys go to NewOrleans every year. And all yall do is complain about how they jack up prices and how the SD is not a college atomosphere. NewOrleans is glad to see yall come and glad to see yall go. Why not come to Jackson every year where your fans can come and tailgate and be fans? IN the meantime your AthlDepartment can actually make money.

Quit doing the same thing over and over every year expecting a different result.

Then I had this thought....

From the JSU Standpoint, this season, the only games that may be your three biggest draws are 1. SU, 2. Homecoming, 3. Valley.

Now JSUers, what if you talked to the SWAC about designating this years SU vs. JSU in Memorial SU's Home Game OR move the game to Baton Rouge making it SU's Home Game again and start Home and Home again in 2013 in Memorial.

That way in 2013, you can have SU, Valley, Grambling, and us here at Alcorn play you in Memorial. Just a Thought. There were MANY seasons Alcorn only had 3 home games.

Dude, are really tripping because I said your posts are BS and you're instigating most of the time - if not all of the time.

You know good and damn well most of the stuff you post is pure BS and will never happen. And no reasonable person expects it to happen.

You post that BS just to fugg with people. Just like me.

Don't get mad about silly ish, dude. Just keep doing what you do. I did give you credit for doing it better than me.

Dude...if GR had told you that SU would have its home game in Jackson in 07, you would have the same reaction.

BTW...go ahead and put "You Mad" in the same unintelligent response category as, "you jealous-you a hater-" or those other ghetto-ish responses.

Just look at the facts and see doesnt it make sense. How much money did you make in Jackson on your last home visit? That can continue.

Let me ask you something:

Mississippi State and Ole Miss used to play the Egg Bowl in that same stadium every year. At some point they stopped and took the series back to the campuses. At the time, the schools had stadiums in the 30K seat range. According to your logic, it would have made more sense for them to keep playing in Jackson and making more money. Right?

So, why did they go back to home and home series on the respective campuses?

Let's see how long it takes you to figure this out ....

JSU is perfectly fine every season. Why? Because we have fans and alumni who attend games and support.
Now on the other hand Alcorn does NOT!
You have JSU & SU at home this season. Which are the only games that you'll make bank off of.
Next year (and every odd year) you won't have Pay days from JSU or SU taking over your campus/stadium.
Y'all gone hurt. That measly 8k for homecoming won't balance y'all check books out.
just worry about Alcorn filling up the home side of the stadium first.
Y'all average 1-2k a game. Thats gotta change. Y'all better start recruiting fans.

Uhhh dude, USM doesn't have a hospital. LOL!!

Exactly! The ONLY reason the CCC failed was because Alcorn's football team was soooo bad, their own fans didn't want to come and see them, but guess what? They still had money coming in from that game EVERY year.
Now that's all gone up in smoke, but they don't realize it.
Starting next year, they will be hurting real bad when the numbers don't add up.

USM?
Your ignorance has you confused. You meant UM, and They won't be taking anything. They will be buying it when We decide to sell it to them.

You know that will not happen again. Those 2 clowns are not in charge anymore at SU. Thank goodness. Talk about a way to alienate the community by not having that game in BR. If folks don't like the atmosphere on our campus(that includes SU fans who you claim rather come to Jackson) then they can stay their arses at home. It was fine all those years in the past. If that game was in Jackson every year helps the city of Jackson and it's vendors. While at the same time, you do nothing for the community that our own school sits in. That don't sit to well with JR at all. You basically are saying fugg BR and Scotlandville and the local vendors who make money off Jag fans coming in for a home game of that magnitude. That is not good business sense. If anything we need to cultivate a better relationship with the local business community which the new regime is doing. You keep this game home and home and work with the money you make when it is your time to host the game and find ways to increase the revenue otherwise. If some SU folks like going to Jackson because it is easier to get a ticket at a bigger stadium. Then they can just show up every other year like they have always done. The real SU alums and fans who support the program with more than just a game ticket will be on the Bluff when JSU comes to town. Simple as that.

Don't worry JR, if jSU doesn't get an on-campus stadium soon, they'll be travelling to all their games. At least Prairie View has put together an architect rendering of a beautiful on-campus stadium. I hope someday my grandkids would get to play in that lovely arena.

Hey P, that sholl is a beautiful stadium:

Gotta admit that looks pretty good.

That looks nice

Hopefully, in my lifetime, Valley can have one similar....

(waits on random JSU posters to respond)
