The Only SWAC Coach Who Never Lost to Grambling's Eddie Robinson ...


Coach Richardson certainly is phenomenal......he was a force to be reckoned with anytime you went up against him and the SU Jaguars.

I'll never forget those games back in the late 90's when my boys went into all those OT with the Jags.....and especially the game when we went into triple OT. And of course that terrible game in 2003 when SU horse kicked us to the head (53-7)....that was one of the most embarrassing game I've ever witnessed.

Congratulations to Coach Richardson and his accomplishments......to be able to go undefeated against Eddie Robinson is a feat within itself!

That was an awesome year. Don't forget Jsu had two first round draft choices that year (Morris and Anderson). Hampton was also good that year but the MEAC was very strong. Hampton began that year ranked #1 in BCF. Tnst was #1 at the end of the regular season 1-AA poll.......I would have to say that was the last banner year in BCF.......FAMU should have won it all but let that team from Ohio come back and beat them.....

Stump has to win some games no doubt. But TC ain't in charge no more. He isn't the board chair. Their is a new regime forming at SU. We will see how the season plays out and like any coach, I am sure his job will be judged on how well he does this season. Obviously you can't fire a coach if he wins the conference or makes a run at it. So to say he will be gone no matter what he does, isn't true. Now we do know win or lose his contract is up. So it aint just up to SU either. So even if Stump wins games. He could still leave on his own. His contract is up at the end of the season. So neither side owes each other anything at the end of the day.
 
Stump is gaining a lot of positives from the locals. He's done a good job promoting the program... His top assistant Chad Germany is aggressively recruiting and setting up "junior" camps. Whether he get players or not, this sits well with the local fanbase.

Stump is a hard worker no doubt. He has embraced the program and the community even though there are folks who want him to fail and will do anything to make sure of it or just rather have one of their own people running our football program. I hope he does well. We both know at the end of the day, he is going to have to get some wins to satisfy the naysayers. But I do commend his effort for sure.

He will make it through the season GR. Who would you replace him with in the middle of the season? If he goes 0-4, I am sure there will be calls for his firing. But if his contract is up at the end of the season. Might as well let him get through it. I could see if it was like yall with Bell where he was disrespecting the fan base with his weekly comments and such. Bell was so smug it rubbed folks the wrong way. Stump don't have that issue. However I doubt seriously he goes 0-4 to start the season.

I was a groomsman in Bell's daughter's wedding about 4 weeks ago. He still cracks me up. Bell is paid also.

You and Bell pretty cool huh? I would imagine he has made sure his money is right. Didn't seem like a guy who would be broke down the line. Bell probably is a good assistant coach. But then again, I don't know since he can't seem to get jobs like Ron Cooper does.

Do you and him talk about the JSU situation he had or what he thinks of the program now? Bell should be a SWAC commentator. I bet it would be funny as hell. LOL.

His daughter married my linebrother. Don't talk to him often but his family yeah. I think he could be a good d-coordinator but headcoach, na. I will never mention JSU in a conversation.

I give him credit for being a smart coach who knew how to win games, but the title of this post is just so over the hill! If you want to crown him for beating a past prime/sick Eddie Robinson, then have fun.
