Beauty Diggers?!?!

Once the tail starts to wagging the dog, all I can say is that I feel sorry for that poor dog.

You're in the deacon's aisle. Say that!

As a man who’s grown up in a society that encourages men to be “responsibleâ€, you don’t feel responsible.

You don’t feel like you’re “providing†or putting all your energy in the right place, especially if you’re a guy who buys into chivalry. This isn’t a bad thing. We are providers, but we should be providing for women who we feel are worthy. We shouldn’t be providing because that’s what we’re supposed to do or some talk show radio host/comedian who was divorced multiple times tells us we should in a book or movie.

We should be providing because we want to. And there are few women who make men want to do things for them and that’s why there are so many commitmentphobes these days.

As guys we want to feel like we get paid for all this contemplation, for all the sacrifices we make to get a partner.

All the money we spend, all the times we endured, all the flaking. We want women to want or have to work just as hard for what they want from us -- a relationship. But too many women feel entitled just because they look a certain way (or all the females in their lives filled their heads up with gunk) all that's required is, well, looking pretty and cats will do their ever whim. And lame men continually aid and abet this behavior.

And we want them to sweat and endure. To feel what it’s like to feel the frustration of doing all that work, and still having to deal with the possibility of rejection. Then get up off their feet, and have to deal with that all over again, trying to learn from their mistakes and stepping their games up in order to get better at convincing men to give them their heart’s desire.

However, the truth is most women who rather die, alone and in a nunnery taking a solemn oath of charity, than have to work as hard as men have to do just so they can have a man commit to them. And really that’s why it’s so hard for men and women. We're too stubborn. We're too selfish. We're too afraid.

Well yall can still have ugly. I will take beauty with flaws over a monster with a phd and a six figure bank account any day. Ugly is so not in.

A brother has become a big girl magnet for some reason, I am not sure if it is because my fiance is a skinny minny or what. I tend to attract chubby girls or older, in-shape cougars who just want a young gun to beat em up. :smh: Atleast the cougars offer benefits. They will ask questions like can you meet me in Vegas, or Atlantic city.

I agree 100%

This kind of goes back to Pops theory on who knows us (men, Black men). Some of them don't see it. For all the sh-t we go through trying to land the "ONE", it's like they don't even recognize what we have to do via society's thoughts and then what we have to do via "black woman's" thoughts. Then, eventually, after getting pushed aside several times, whether you went after the outside beauty or inside, you find that one who gets it. The one who understands "he has as many options as I do so I need to show him I can be his equal, his partner" instead of this antiquated bullsh-t some women try to run today.

You have gained equality in a lot of things .... be equal in this too.

Damn, you sure you not my twin Pops? Since 15, that's what I attract. I'm not a small guy. I just knew a little skinny miss was going to be in my future .... not quite. I can't complain though ... like Crit has been telling y'all, them pretty pluses ... I got a small one, about 5'2", but she is something else.

And big ladies, please don't take offense to this, but it builds the ego just a bit to break you down in that room ... them itty-bitty ladies don't get it.
