GSU kicks off spring practice


Since JRock is in here repeating himself, I'm gonna do this for another TSPN poster . . . .Ya'll better not sleep on Valley.

Valley has finally hired and retained a good coach and staff...they have recruited well and improved on the field. This could be their breakout season.

Speaking of coaches...I hope Doug comes back THIS season...considering some new developments going on at GSU. :snicker:

I can't wait to Grambling works this mess out with Doug. Grambling's football program is one year away from being a true FCS powerhouse. 2012 looks to be another good season. These guys are bigger and better than last season. The defense is solid and the offense will be improved. Look for the G-Men to win the SWAC again. When 2013 comes around, the G-Men will be strong all around. I am looking for a 2005 season or better. I just can't see Doug and Grambling not being able to work this out.

My God Son who transferred into Grambling to play for the Superbowl MVP. He is Mario times three. He is going to completely destroy the SWAC. We have to go back to the 80s to find his kind of talent in the SWAC.

Practices are going great. Butler has the team in great shape. Everybody ripped. Pogue, Chico, and James were out to observe practice yesterday. We are going to beat the shit out the SWAC. Our talent has significantly improved.

Do you realize how sorry your team was? I was actually surprised you all hung in there with Grambling. That was a moral loss for them. By the end of the season, GSU was the second best team in the SWAC.

You really paying attention to the hate of JRock.

JSU returns the best defense in the SWAC and a total of 15 starters. Our QB position is questionable right now but I don't see us being much different than we were the last two years.

Valley, Alcorn and AAMU can't beat Jackson State. AlaState can't beat AAMU. The swing game that determines the EAST is typically JSU-BAMA State becasue the only team that ever keeps JSU out of Bham is BAMA State. AAMU usually goes by beating BAMA State and winning a tie-breaker. I personally just can't see us losing to BAMA State now that we REALLY know they are one-dimensional defensively and they are eternally sorry of offense.

You can't duplicate 2005. In 2005, your team was really sorry. Your defense was horrid and the offense was saved by Big Bruce. Bruce is probably the first SWAC QB since McNair to carry an entire team to a SWAC title. Without Bruce, you saw what happened to GSU.

Depth did Valley in last year... they have good players and good coaches.

How they gonna have better depth this year? Also, aside from their OC, I don't think they have good coaches. Morgan was not even a good HBCU DC. He was the wrong choice. This is probably his final season.
