Alabama State sees new stadium as key to getting fans, alumni on campus

The $62 million Alabama State University stadium, the final plans of which were approved by university officials Aug. 24, is on track to be open by Thanksgiving for the Turkey Day Classic against Tuskegee University.

The Hornets will continue playing their games at the city's Cramton Bowl until the stadium is opened, which is something William Harris, president of ASU, says is key to getting people on campus.

The stadium will have 20 luxury box suites, which cost $19,500 to lease per year. Harris said most of those boxes have already been booked by businesses or groups of individuals. Fans will have the benefit of 64-foot, high-definition scoreboard. A merchandise store and a restaurant also will be housed in the stadium.

Click below to see a "live" camera shot of the construction (camera loads shots about every three seconds). You can actually see construction equipment moving, and the occasional worker walking by.

You have to watch it for a few seconds to see movement, but its pretty cool. Its on 24 hours a day, and you can even see them working at night some times.:tup:

Homeboy, I don't know if you want to piss on those floors. Hi-Tech cameras may expose your pee-pee. :lol:
