Solution to what problem? There was no SCG back in 1980. No automatic bids. The SWAC was one of the top conferences in all of football. So... what does your 1980 problem solving have to do with your 2012 problem?

In 1980 JSU and Alcorn was the ONLY schools playing on Thanksgiving day. We moved our Thanksgiving Day game to the week BEFORE Thanksgiving in 1980 specifically because of the creation of the FCS Playoffs.

After 1989, it has come to my attention that the BC was moved to the weekend after thanksgiving. SU/GRAM took yourselves OUT of the playoffs after 1989. Ten full years after the playoffs as they are known today was created. Ya'll are the ones that ran scared............ Just like we been saying. :lol:

SU/GRAM DID THAT TO YOURSELF AND THE CONFERENCE when others was taking the lead, making the hard decision to give up a packed house on Thanksgiving day for the good of the conference. All this time I been thinking the BC was the weekend after Thanksgiving since it was formed based on ya'll lies. :lol:

No no no frat. The BC was moved due to scheduling conflicts with the Superdome those times. The BC was on Thanksgiving week when I got to SU in band. I remember because I couldn't go home for Thanksgiving. Those few times we couldn't play on Thanksgiving week was because of the LSU vs Tulane game I believe. But make no mistake, the BC wasn't just moved to that week after 89. Stop listening to TP and the other young folks. LOL. Look for yourself. That game has historically been on that week since the late 70s. Not just after 89. In 85 and 89 the game was not on Thanksgiving week. I am sure logistics and using Tulane Stadium and then the Superdome was the only reasons why this game was not on Thanksgiving week. As you can see the year we locked it in stone was 78. The year the playoffs started. And you know damn well Coach Rob was never scared of them white schools. Hell he almost beat SMU and did beat Oregon State. So yall can stop all this GSU and SU ran stuff. Otis Washington shole wouldn't have been scared when he coached SU and Marino replaced him and we know the Godfather wasn't scared, it was money driven. You keep forgetting he was SU's AD from 86 through all of the 90s.

JSU has been part of the solution since 1980 so what are you talking about. Hell......... JSU and Alcorn made the hard decision back then to take the lead in this and that move still stands today as a result of the playoffs being established.

That is when we moved our JSU/Alcorn game from Thanksgiving day to the Saturday BEFORE Thanksgiving. The day before the Playoff bids go out the 3rd Sunday of November. Now why should we continue to hold that banner high when the rest of the SWAC, Schools like yours never even tried to make yourself available for consideration. Why should we continue to carry that banner when more and more schools in this conference move games to Thanksgiving weekend. :noidea:

You on here talking about what JSU should do, how about telling us what SU should do for a change. What hard decisions and concessions have SU made in 23 years since the playoffs started to make SU available for playoff consideration?

How has the present setup helped SU financially? Where is the money from all the Classics? Show me how not going to the playoffs is so much better financially for SU then going.

Maybe you should frame your argument around the "competition" angle, because using the financial one is crazy.

WE DO NOT GIVE BACK TO OUR SCHOOLS.

How are we isolated? Because we play nine games against our conference? Don't other conferences play the majority of their games against their conference? Is it our OOC games where J-State plays Tennessee State EVERY YEAR and Southern-FAMU when we could be playing SHSU or SELa? Or is it one team getting the chance to play one team from another conference in November?

What part of the BC is not stopping YOU from doing anything. SU has chosen to take the BC over the playoffs. I will take and guaranteed 500,000 plus over a possibility anyday. The SCG stopped the rest of you, not us. The chance that PV could go to the SCG is what stopped them a few years back. Our game could have been the week before and they still would not have been able to go.

And obviously you didn't read my last post because our issue is not money .... it's what happens to it once we get it. Athletics, until this year, did not get the lionshare of BC money as it should. That is what happens to MOST of us when dealing with classics and big games.

Or did you just conveniently forget that to try and sell your point?
